You both make good and bad points, have valid and invalid opinions, and I never agree with either of you all the time, but each at any given time.

Doesn't make us enemies, just sometimes in disagreement. Don't think we'll ever go to war over it though!

That's where govt's differ.... they don't think in small "individual" terms (like people do!)!

One of the first people to use the word “apartheid” in relation to Israel was Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben Gurion, who warned following the 1967 War of Israel becoming an “apartheid state” if it retained control of the occupied territories.

June 5, 2012, marks the 45th anniversary of the start of the 1967 War, when Israel launched a surprise attack against Egypt and began its military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem, and Syrian Golan Heights.

Since that time, Israel has ruled over millions of Palestinians in the occupied territories by military decree, granting them no political rights while relentlessly colonizing their land. Forty-five years on, Israel’s occupation and settlement enterprise become more entrenched by the day, leading many observers to conclude that the creation of a sovereign and territorially contiguous Palestinian state alongside Israel (i.e. the two-state solution) is no longer possible.

The following fact sheet provides an overview of 45 years of Israel's occupation and settlement enterprise.

I should use this piece as an example of hyperbole and misinformation in the propaganda thread.

From the Wiki:

The Six-Day War (Hebrew: מלחמת ששת הימים, Milhemet Sheshet Ha Yamim; Arabic: النكسة, an-Naksah, "The Setback," or حرب 1967, Ḥarb 1967, "War of 1967"), also known as the June War, 1967 Arab-Israeli War, or Third Arab-Israeli War, was fought between June 5 and 10, 1967, by Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt (known at the time as the United Arab Republic), Jordan, and Syria.

After a period of high tension, including large-scale Egyptian military preparations in the Sinai, the war began on June 5 with Israel launching surprise bombing raids against Egyptian air-fields. Within six days, Israel had won a decisive land war. Israeli forces had taken effective control of the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria.

After the 1956 Suez Crisis, Egypt agreed to the stationing of a United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) in the Sinai to ensure all parties would comply with the 1949 Armistice Agreements.[11][12][13] In the following years there were numerous minor border clashes between Israel and its Arab neighbors, particularly Syria. In early November, 1966, Syria signed a mutual defense agreement with Egypt.[14]

Soon thereafter, in response to Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) guerilla activity,[15][16] including a mine attack that left three dead,[17] the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) attacked the city of as-Samu in the Jordanian-occupied West Bank, killing 16 and wounding 54.[18] Jordanian units that engaged the Israelis were quickly beaten back.[19] Israel's attack was condemned by the Security Council, which emphasized to Israel that actions of military reprisal cannot be tolerated. King Hussein of Jordan criticized Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser for failing to come to Jordan's aid, and "hiding behind UNEF skirts".[20][21]

In May 1967, Israeli officials began to publicly threaten military action against Syria if Syria did not stop Palestinian terrorists from crossing the border into Israel, [22] and Nasser received (inaccurate) reports from the Soviet Union that Israel was massing on the Syrian border.[23] Nasser began massing his troops in the Sinai Peninsula on Israel's border (May 16), expelled the UNEF force from Gaza and Sinai (May 19), and took up UNEF positions at Sharm el-Sheikh, overlooking the Straits of Tiran.[24][25] UN Secretary-General U Thant proposed that the UNEF force be redeployed on the Israeli side of the border, but this was rejected by Israel despite U.S. pressure.[26]

Israel reiterated declarations made in 1957 that any closure of the Straits would be considered an act of war, or a justification for war.[27][28] Nasser declared the Straits closed to Israeli shipping on May. 22–23. On May 27, he stated "Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight."[29]

On May 30, Jordan and Egypt signed a defense pact. The following day, at Jordan's invitation, the Iraqi army began deploying troops and armored units in Jordan.[30] They were later reinforced by an Egyptian contingent. On June 1, Israel formed a National Unity Government by widening its cabinet, and on June 4 the decision was made to go to war. The next morning, Israel launched Operation Focus, a large-scale surprise air strike that was the opening of the Six-Day War.

In the 1967 War, Israel won a decisive military victory fighting 1
against 4. The stated aim of their enemies was "the destruction of
Israel". They liberated Jerusalem and many other areas which were
historically part of ancient Israel including Hebron and the West
Bank - many areas in which Jewish cemeteries and historical artifacts
had been desecrated by Arab occupiers. Israel also was able to finally
stop attacks that had been raining down on them from the Golan heights
at last controlling the strategic high ground in the norther part
of Israel.

Have a look in at the thread [propaganda]......and take it up The Israeli Generals.

Take your objection up with IMEU The Institute for Middle East Understanding ...challenge them.

Report back here and if you are correct in your objection I will be the first to admit I should not have used that site.

If you are not prepared to challenge the site I suggest you tell us why you are so interested in the subject.

Israel To Demolish Palestinian Solar Energy Program
Posted by Good German on February 22, 2012

A sustainable energy program in ‘Area C’ of rural West Bank is being threatened by Israeli authorities. The program, which recently installed solar panels and wind turbines in 16 communities, is providing 1,500 Palestinians with electricity — who were formerly without reliable energy.

The foreign aid program, thus far successful, has become a new target for Israel as it threatens to demolish the structures that supposedly lie within Israeli ‘administration’.

Der Spiegel reports:

The best part is when the lights in the tents go on, one by one, says Elad Orian. Electricity here, in the hills south of Hebron, was long unreliable. Either it was not available or it was too expensive, produced for just a few hours each day by a noisy, diesel-guzzling generator. That changed when Elad Orian and Noam Dotan, two Israeli physicians who had tired of conflict, came along three years ago and installed solar panels and erected wind turbines. Since then, such facilities have been installed in 16 communities, providing 1,500 Palestinians with electricity. [...]

The success, though, could soon be a thing of the past. Israel has threatened to tear them down with five municipalities in recent weeks having received “stop work” orders — the first step on the road to demolition. The problem is that the facilities are in the so-called Area C, which covers 60 percent of the West Bank and is administered by Israel. Permission from the Israelis is a requirement before construction projects can move ahead — and permits are almost never given to Palestinians. [...
