I want to leave the U.S. but I don't want to learn a foreign language or foreign culture. I just want to move out of the U.S. to a similar country. Any suggestions?

Well, I would consider Canada, but I don't do well in the cold, so that leaves CA. out.

You may laugh but the weather does effect my depression. I do better in warmer and sunny weather, that's why I like the south so much.

I know it gets too cold where I'm at now, Canada is farther north, so it's only logical to me that it would be just as cold, if not colder.

Dude...Canada is the most viable option. Yes thier winters are long....yes, half their population is rude (french)...most of thier women are Canadian Square Backs. (like a refridgerator with a head on it)....but, they got good personalities.

20 years ago I woulda said Mexico cause the summers last all year long and beautiful women don't wear alot of clothes....but..they kill everyone there these days.

Maybe you don't need to leave the US to find what your hunting for. This might come off kinda weird, but over the years I have found that with my friends who have a tendency to get depressed it is many times directly linked to 3 things location wise. One cold weather, 2 overcast skies, 3 humidity. With number 3 the lack of humidity takes a ton of stress off of your body.

I have found that living in the Southwest in many ways is like living in another country with all the benefits of this one.

Yeah, weather and climate does effect my depression. I haven't considered humidity, but I suppose that could play a role as well.

So far I've only experienced the east coast and mid west. I like the east coast, but have a feeling I'd enjoy the Gulf or west coast more.

Come to Austalia Totage...
Why..
Because we are friendly,
it's warm up top where I am, but cooler down the bottom if you don't like it hot.
We have jobs.
We have freedom.
We talk pretty much like you, some words are different but most of your stuff I understand, just a few wierd words and you all talk sooooo slow and seem to make all your words long.
Hmmm why else,
If you are under 45 and have any qualifications that we need, which there are heaps as we dont have as many qualified workers as we need.

heaps of the mines are looking for workers, I think it's 2 weeks on one week off, they will fly you home a few times a year and pay for your flights in and out of the mines.

But you work in the heat and normally it's around the 100's as most of the mines are in the top end of Australia. I think the mines are around $1000 to $2000 a week depending what you are doing. If you have better skills obviously you are paid better.
The other problem with the mines are you are really isolated, and there is a no drug or alcohol policy for the 2 or 3 weeks straight that you work.

If you are under 30 you can get a working visa pretty easily, I should have checked your age before i wrote this, but anyway its cool.

Anyway if you decide to head out here, come and visit.

The first town that takes on this realy cool Vibe is Santa Fe NM. It may be too remote for you, so Albuquerque is cool. But for me this is the edge of this fresh positive area. If you head west you will feel it get more and more open (much different feeling from the east). So follow Interstate 25 down to Las Cruses. Then 10 to Tucson and 8 to the coast. From this line up is where the peaceful energy is. North wise Denver and over. For me Vegas is the sweet spot. Not because of gambling or any vices, but because of all the nature, cost of living, great weather and not all that far from the ocean for trips. And Vegas never sleeps which makes it the perfect city if you want to take walks during those restless times.
