Art regardless of material or medium is art when whatever is produced is the result of a creative urge that attempts to bring into being the manifestation of emotional expression and desire there bye presenting something that is unique and personal to the Artist to the wider world,i think.

i have a problem with calling photography an art. i have a problem with most digital art forms. o.O i just hate computers. it's cheating! I have actually dabbled in using computers for art, while some things that people do with the computers i wouldnt call art (photoshop) i would call drawing with sketchbook express art because its just as hard as drawing on a sketchbook. |

Photography is art, the problem with digital is that many, (inlcuding myself), due to its convenience, never slow down and think the shot through..
With film you always had to consider the light, film type, speed and of course the lens and what it is you are trying to acheive.. I'm hopeing to use program less on the camera, manual more. Any post editing I prefer to keep to a minimum, and hopefully one day I'll get a large plate camera and do more b+w material.. Here's a shot by one of my favourite photographers, Ansel Adams.. |

The nice thing about digital is that you can plan out a shot before putting it on film. :) And I LOVE Ansel Adams. |
