Hey,
Bravo, absolutely agree with what you're saying about the effort of creating something is in itself something to admire! Creativity is inspirational - after all, where would we be without some form of self expression? By creativity, I DO mean to imply a form of humanistic non-agressive expression. Anyone can be aggressive. Acts of aggression may well be the result of a repressed individual's need to express themselves in a desperate form. To be creative takes far more imagination and insight. BRAVO to all creators! x |

There are numerous art forms, visual arts, performing arts, architectural art, literary art.... etc. I believe artists are greatly influenced by other art forms. Personally, I can't draw a straight line and I can't play ANY instruments but I do consider myself an artist because I create and manufacture a household appliance that is truly... Forever! I create it for others to enjoy and use.... and also to earn a living. I absolutely love and admire all other art forms. No matter the beauty of it, I'll love it just because someone put the energy and effort in completing it. Do you agree that anyone who creates things for others is an artist? and what DO YOU create? Absolutely. Art is an anything the mind can create, whether it is surfboards, washing machines, computer graphics. I love music, I love to write and draw/design. I love inventing snacks to eat. I once submitted an idea to Kellogg's and they actually wrote me back with start up information. Art comes in all forms,

Dude, I'm flattered but all my activity partners are women. However, if you can lace up some skates and get in nets as a goalie... I have no problem taking slapshots at you.

An Artist is a terrible thing to waste, for sure. Far too many artists that create out of unbounded inspiration or must for living expenses; whatever the motive, are not seen by city governments as an integral part of the community despite the tourists dollars flowing into many cities with an active and vibrant art community that contribute enormously to a city's life. Many European cities have made both housing and studio spaces available for active artists with very low rates and percentages of their sales which the cities also promote. It would be nice to see that in North America; artists do not need to end up sleeping in doorways because of too high rents. Myself, I paint and do graphics. As a kid, I sold my works to tourists on the sidewalks and flea markets in Paris. |

I am a writer and poet I also play several instuments with emphasis on the harmonica,keyboards and guitar I love photography and nature And i can draw a bit lol I just enjoy art in all it's forms ! May creativity never be silenced

Technically it may have in any form..for me,Art is synonymous of beauty and cool feelings.
I deal in antiques.People do like scraped and rustic artifacts just because its patina. Having a eye catching reflection of a object is a product of artist. You are a artist. |

Art is art. It doesn't matter if you appreciate your own (and I hope all artists do to some degree or another) or if someone else does. It comes from within and that's a beautiful thing. |

i don't think art is for anyone else. it's mostly for yourself. if the artist calls it art, then it's art. i make messes. Well, since b hates compliments, and since I'm pretty sure she won't read this. B, finally getting to see some of your paintings, plus the painting you made for me on my birthday- you hardly make messes. That multi-colored elephant you recently did is amazing. |

I think if the art gets you to experience feelings, or emotions then it is art. Jeanniebean, you just might be right. I watched a little blurb the other day about a dog that made "art". The owner put trace paper on a canvas and taped the whole thing up, gave it to the dog, and he went crazy trying to get the tape off. The result was a whole bunch of scratches on a piece of canvas board with the colours of the american flag. I was thinking to myself "you have got to be kidding". But it did elicit a response, didn't it! LOL People were eating it up! I just have a problem with calling a dog with a packing tape fixation an artist! LOL |
