If a friend of yours suddenly became and on line drop out would you inquire why? What if the friend was someone you had a real life contact with? I tend to try to respect my friends privacy and freedom of speech or more important ly not to speak but if something sounds out of character I wonder what the popular view is about reacting to this?

I see it as it's none of my business. If someone wants me to know then they will tell me....other than that, I stay out of it.

Someone you know who usualy uses the computer to be social, has a lot of on line friends. sends emails often; then just drops off line.

Oh shut up!

This thread title had me instantly singing "Beauty School Drop out" from "Grease"

I don't even know what the question is...I got visons of gorgeous women in hot pants and poodle skirts with dudes with pompadours, pleather and pussywagons.

Thats the spirit!

(I was kidding....if women wanna hook up with someone who will be a downer...they can just get back with thier ex)

Just a tip Mr. Jerm.....these ladies wanna smile and enjoy themselves, consider a more positive approach...chicks dig it.

Let's face it, if you ain't enjoying yourself...you won't go back and neither will they.

I don't usually pry into others business, unless I have a very strong concern. I feel that if someone wants me to know something they will tell me, and if they wish I'd rather not know, they won't. I respect that. I do try to let them know I'm here for them, if they ever need someone.

I have had it happen quite a bit.
I do not know where they have gone.
But they know where I am.
That seems imbalanced, so I let
it go.

Sometimes people just need a break.
Disappearance, on the internet,
is not that uncommon.

Some people are more worth
wondering after than others.
Hope you can resolve :-)

It is creepy how many show tunes I know (I was the favored babysitter among my friends back when thier f*** trophies needed babysitting)..They loved Disney, Grease, Rocky Horror, Streets of Fire and the old Heavy Metal Movie.

The way I see it online friends will come into your life with a whisper at times and will leave the same way....If they wanted me to know they would have told me...

But .......there are some that if I actually have their number if they was to just dissapear then yeah I would call them to make sure they were okay... If all is well and they say they have been busy or just needed a break I will just leave it at that....

As long as I know they are okay then it's all good...bigsmile

If it's someone I have contact with offline, then I would absolutely contact them and see what's up.

Nice new picture, yellowrose. That bird has a lot of character. That mean little bbbbbstard. Reminds me of my grade three discipline teacher.

OP: we don't know, you don't know. The friend dropped off. Perhaps she or he is in a depression. Or found a new love. Or is in Jail. Or in the hospital, or on vacation, which s/he had frogot to tell you about.

If you have real life contact with her, you could give her a call and inquire. Like "I am concerned" or similar. Stay cool and mildly supportive, if s/he is in trouble; stay upbeat and happy for her (despite the obvious envy in your voice (smile)) when h/se tells you s/he has found a terrific guy (be her a female, or a male -- your friend or the "terrific guy.")
