Topic: What's your type? | |
---|---|
Obese=Average in today's world. So many people in society believe a size 12 is morbidly obese. Its more than half this country actually. Oh and was the "accepted" size of old Hollywood actresses from the '20s to the late '60s. Lot of this madness starts when peeps believe what they're told by the media. I say think for yaself. Life is damn short to limit yourself. Being skinny and buff does NOT necessarily mean its all that attractive. Least for my taste. I personally do not have a body type when it comes to men. Its all about being healthy and comfortable in your own skin. Quit listening to Madison Avenue so much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fbwsh9Iw_w Don't hate me, just supplying the real here. Mariah When looking at women's size charts there seem to be several standards. Very confusing. A twelve in one "seems" to be an eight in another: 1. U.S. Standard Women's Sizes 2. Women's Sizes 5'5" to 5'6" tall, average bust, average back 3. Women' Pants Size 4. International Size Chart for Women (USA) When you are quoting a size 12 which standard were you using? Men's seem to be simple: waist times inseam length. I know women have differing body shapes but so do men. Why so many differing standards? I know that when I look for clothes, I'm in the same general size no matter where I look. Sizes/fits of different brands of clothes may be a bit off, but I would guess the same goes for men. |

It's a b*tch to find my size in clothes anywhere. I always have to go a size or two too big. Different brands and styles differ slightly.

And here in the UK the sizing is different again. A US shoe size 5 is a 3 in the UK and to complicate things further we also have metric sizing of 37 which is somewhere between a UK 3 and 4. Totally crazy. |

I was known to be varying shades of green many mornings in my younger days. As I have learned my lesson now ( that hangovers just last a lot longer than they use too), the only time I get even remotely green anymore is when I have to listen to my friends complain about their relationship problems. News flash, the single guy doesn't want to hear about your problems! As far as the horn goes, you forgot a letter. |

Men's seem to be simple: waist times inseam length. I know women have differing body shapes but so do men. Why so many differing standards? Sizes depend on the designers. One designers's size 12 would be another designer's size 16. I really wish they would just generalize it though. I have one pair of shorts that are a size 10 but yet have a pair of pants that are size 16. I average between a 12 and 14. Then the fun of small, med, large, ex-large. I have everything from an extra large to medium but again it depends on the designer. This is why we painfully have to try on clothes. I would love to buy a pair of pants that would show waist, hip, and thigh size before I bother to try them on. Same with tops; just but the darn bust size and waist on it as it would make life so much easier. I usually buy clothes that don't fit me but alter it when I get home. Not much I can buy off the rack these days. |

If I look at either jeans or dress slacks I wear a 36 X 30 in all of them. Shirt sizing is, usually, the same whether in a t-shirt or dress shirt (sleeve measurement being additional). However, some shirt companies use the small, medium, large, XL, XXL and tent approach. Don't care for this type of sizing. |

When asking "What's your type", are you talking about physical characteristics or about internal character?

I'd say I'm searching for a person who has a higher IQ than myself and is humble enough not to be full of themselves about it.
Since my # 1 goal in life is to learn there can be no compromise about this. On the other hand, I just love to exchange ideas and build concepts together with another. A man's mind and his character is far more than important than how they look. Nevertheless, I have always been drawn to men with dark hair and green eyes are so rare that I am compelled to stare into them. |

I fell in love with a girl who had diabetes and lost partial sight in one eye a few months ago. She was just herself, still very pretty even if she was a bit down on herself because I have so much more experience than her. I couldn't compare her to any previous women I've known, my type being, long legged, natural beauties.
I've never been left sitting in a restaurant alone before because someone thought I didn't want them. Somehow mature adults get through dinner and dessert. My type is Margaret Russell who runs Architectural Digest. |
