"Israel is a modern democracy and America's and Europe's ally in the Middle East. All Israeli citizens - Christians, Muslims and Jews - have freedom of religion and the right to vote. Ten Arabs and 16 women are in Israel's parliament, and both men and women have access to education, modern health care and good jobs. Israel, like the U.S. and European Union, is a true democracy based on freedom and equality." "Israeli schools, books and teachers teach peace, tolerance and respect. In a region where there is so much hate and violence, Israelis want the next generation to have hope and a better future." "America's and Europe's ally, Israel, is a democracy in the Middle East. All Israeli citizens - Christians, Muslims and Jews , men and women - have freedom of speech, religion and the right to vote. Today, Israel is reaching out its hand in peace -with a bold initiative that will give Palestinians the entire Gaza territory -and a hopeful future. Israel, a true democracy, is looking for peace." You ever lived in Israel, the great European democracy? If you are an arab, you are stopped by securitat every one mile, on the average, asked to show papers, IDs, and if you smirk or giggle, they take you in and search your body cavitats, first stripping you and putting on rubber gloves. Try doing that to Black people in America. Try doing that to Muslims in France. This is not democracy and freedom for all denominations. It is more like hell of abominations. I am Jewish, proudly so, and I hate Zionism and the State of Israel. In fact, if you are Jewish and take the TRUE RELIGIOUS side of Judaism as your moral guidance, you must decry the modern Israel, it's in the book. It's one of the 2000 commandments, right there beside the play-dough snakes. If you are Jewish in your heart, and want the best for your people, and are fiercely patriotic, of course you will support Israel as a viable state for Jews, whether it means calling the wrath of the entire planet upon our heads just once more or not. I think Jews like Israel because it is an emotional thing to have our homeland back for ourselves. Because we have been a nation, a well defined, clearly separate nation for two thousand years without having a country of our own. Now we have Israel, of course it feels like having a piece of god in our hearts. But it is not God that gave us Israel, but satan. Israel, by its sheer force of existence and need to fight off wars and terror, by its sheer presence of being an eyesore in an arab sea, is the ONLY reason that calls the wrath of the world on the JEWS since Hitler has come and gone. Okay... so we want Israel, we love it, but it's destroying us... Hey. "Israel is like a woman to me. You can't live with her, and you can't live without her." JEWS had many ways of classifying themselves: by race (Ashkenazi or Sephardic), by religion (Reform, Orthodox, modern Orthodox, Frum, Lebowitch, etc. etc.), by degree of compliance to the covenant (Kosher, Kosher at home, secular, completely secular, etc.), by brains (stupid and smart) by political ideation (Zionist, Relgiously guided, secular, reasonable, etc.), and now... a new one: A new way for Jews to be classified is: "I want the stupidity but yet our heart's desire of supporting Israel as a Jewish state" and "I wish to give up Israel for it costs our nation too much in public rep and may lead to another holocaust eventually, it has a very strong potential for it." The beauty of this division is that it is independent from all or mostly all other classificational divisions; you can be tall, short, fat, slim, orthodox or secular, sephardic or ashkenazi, doesn't matter, you have the same chance and the same freedom to join either the pro- or the anti-israel side as a Jew, nothing can influence your choice that is a pre-existing Jewish quality, but your conscience, which is not an exclusively Jewish quality. I like this. I also like the fact that it is a division that is not opposable. Jews have allowed all classificiations that entered the mainstream of Jewish life. Except for one, and I am fully happy that it became an exception: The "Jews for Jesus" movement, which is the most despicable movement any Jew ever thought up. In essence, not in practice, but in basic ideological and theological essence, the only thing that separates Jews from Christians is the belief or lack of it that Jesus was God. If you want to udnermine that, you are undermining Judaism in its basic tenets. So I am glad we kicked the butt of those in favour of J4J. But Israel is a real stupid mistake many people, many nations, a politically fertile situation in history, and many emotions created. Of course, now there is also the catastrophy of how to roll up and ship the Jews and their belongings out of Israel, and where to ship it once we got the crates filled. Indeed, where? Are we, Jews, so really much of a trouble for the world? Should we apologize for existing? ------- I tell you folks, it's not easy being a conscientious, thinking, ethical, and reasonable Jew these days. A classic case of "damned if you Jew, damned if you Don't." |

You can't call four aces in the other guy's hand a bluff and then claim victory and pull in the pile. Get your facts straight, Con-rad, and don't use insinuation as a fact to support your unfactual argument. I am telling you: if you don't know how they 'suss out' arabs, go to Israel and ask them. They don't know it either. So in fact many Israeli Jews get caught in this safety net. Would it make you feel better to understand the situation, if in America some whites would be called "f n**ger" straight in their faces? In Israel, the democratic discrimination is political not simply based on social prejudice. In Israel Arabs enjoy the same healthcare system, but they don't enjoy living there, much like I and I daresay you as well, would not enjoy being accosted on the street by police just for walking down there. |

Damned if you Jew and damned if you don't!
and "I don't mind at all if you Jew!" Well that was not my experience in Israel - I mean if I didn't see them sussin out Arabs and They themselves don't know about all the Arab sussin out...well then maybe the Arab sussin is not what it used to be... Not that there aren't some serious problems there but it is obviously a result of antisemitic prejudice and not the source of it. If Arabs accept Israel as a Jewish state and stop attacking then it is all over possibly for good. |

Kirk Douglas, the cleft-chinned actor best known for his roles in movies like "Spartacus," "Out of the Past" and "Lust for Life" and for fathering actor/director Michael Douglas, celebrates his 95th birthday on Friday (Dec. 9). Douglas was born to Russian-Jewish parents (he titled his 1988 autobiography "The Ragman's Son") in Amsterdam, N.Y., in 1916. At Saint Lawrence University he became a champion wreslter, but an interest in acting drew him to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. From 1941 to 1945 he served in the Navy before returning and making his way to Hollywood. His first role was in 1946's "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" with Barbara Stanwyck and Van Heflin. Huffington Post writer John Farr sums up Douglas' larger-than-life life nicely: An iconic star and producer in Hollywood, he has lived the life of ten men. He was almost on the plane that went down with producer Michael Todd in 1958. He broke the Hollywood blacklist by insisting that screenwriter Dalton Trumbo receive credit for "Spartacus." He survived a helicopter crash that killed two others. He suffered a massive stroke that robbed him of his speech, and then worked ceaselessly in therapy to regain it. He's seen one son become a star, and lost another to a drug overdose. http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/12/hey-kirk-douglas-happy-95th-birthday.html |

Put the blame where the damn blame lies! I don't follow you. Are the arabs hitting Israeli targets because the Israeli army decimates buildings in Lebanon and assassinates their leaders in the Gaza strip, or are the assassination the bombings happening because Arabs hit Israeli targets. Please point out which came first, the chicken or the egg, and if you can successfully tell me which came first, with no bias and with no zionist patriotism that clouds your judgement, then tell me why I should believe that the blame is on the Arabs. I don't put blame. That's the first step for anyone to learn who wants to have some clear head. Blame is emotion, it is anger, it is not conducive to see reality as it is. If you put blame, you make a moral judgment, and as such, each moral judgment has an equal and opposite, and completely just example on the other side. I lived with people, students, very recently, and one of them told me that his uncle was woken in his house in Palestine, by Israeli soldiers, in 1948, told to leave with everyone and when the uncle refused, he was shot to death on the spot. Now, tell THIS guy that it's the Arabs who are to blame, and who came before the Israelis. (as in chicken vs. eggs.) -------- No, guy, con-rad, I mean it. Go up to any surviving family member of any arab who were shot, killed, or themselves maimed or tortured by Israelis, and tell them, with a straight and unflinching face, that it's the arab's fault that there is a horrible situation there. |

Besides the Arabs were killing Jews in "Palestine" way before there was an Israel! Read up on the Mufti Amin al-Husseini of Armenian Genocide Fame! |

A classic case of "damned if you Jew, damned if you Don't." I am not blowing from my mouth, Conrad. Go to Israel, and see it for yourself. Happy Hannukah!
Jewish Mysticism and Yoga August 10th, 2010 I have been a member of Dahn Yoga for more than five years. During that time, I have discovered that through meditation, exercise, and discipline, I could stay the course of my journey of self-discovery. I have maintained my growth by incorporating my religious beliefs into my practice. Surprisingly, these things have blended easily with or complemented Dahn Yoga principles. I am often asked, “How can one who believes in an organized religion practice yoga? Don’t you have to give one up in order to embrace the other?” My answer is always: “No.” In fact, there are many similarities and points of connection with my religion. In the Torah (the Jewish book of laws), we are taught that blood is life. It has its own energy as it circulates through the body. We do not tattoo or cut ourselves so as not to compromise blood, the life force. Likewise, the Dahn Yoga principle “Shim Ki Hyul Jung” teaches about the vital force of blood which can transform the body. The Torah also teaches, “Who is rich? He who is happy with his lot…” Is this not a Tao view of existence? http://www.dahnyoga.com/what_is_new/news_and_articles/details/1470/Jewish-Mysticism-and-Yoga |

I love Jews. I love Judaism. I support Zionism as it gives Jews a refuge in a hostile world. I love Israel. When the jack booted thugs come for my Jewish brothers and sisters, they will have to kill me first or wait until I'm out of 7.62X54R. All Arab countries combined are 650 times the size of Israel. It boggles the imagination that people believe this tiny country, which is 8 times smaller than the state of Florida, is the source of the problems in the Middle East. 82% of the World's Jews live in the USA or Israel. The world is a very hostile place for Jews and they have voted with their feet to live in the two freest countries in the world. Palestinian Arabs were given 77% of the British Mandate (which had been part of the Ottoman empire), while Jews were only given 23%, more than half of it desert. The Jews gladly accepted, they were trilled to be able to return to their ancestral homeland. The Palestinian Arabs objected (although 100,000 Jews lived in the area prior to and during WWI), they felt the Jews should be kicked out of the Middle East completely and Arabs should receive all of the land. Their feeling was that the Jews should be kicked out of their homes (even those who were born, lived and worked in Palestine) and have their land taken from them. The Jews were perfectly happy taking 23% of the land (at least 50% of which was desert), leaving 77% with the Arabs, but the Palestinian Arabs felt that any land deal should give 100% of the land to the them. In the end, Israel took the deal and had to fight a war against six nations in order to claim their tiny piece of the world. Israel's existence is a miracle in itself. I'm happy for all my Jewish brothers and sisters to have a home in this hostile world. Not just Israel, but here in the USA. God bless. |

For the supporters and screw the nay sayers, I thought I would share one of my favorite concepts in Judaism. Dayenu which roughly translates to "enough" or "sufficent". It is a song sung at Passover.
The wonderful friends and supporters I have on here, I feel are "enough" and am grateful. I do not worry about haters.... Love, Terri ENJOY!! Dayenu "It would have been sufficient..." If He had brought us out from Egypt, and had not carried out judgments against them Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had carried out judgments against them, and not against their idols Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had destroyed their idols, and had not smitten their first-born Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had smitten their first-born, and had not given us their wealth Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had given us their wealth, and had not split the sea for us Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had split the sea for us, and had not taken us through it on dry land Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had taken us through the sea on dry land, and had not drowned our oppressors in it Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had drowned our oppressors in it, and had not supplied our needs in the desert for forty years Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had supplied our needs in the desert for forty years, and had not fed us the manna Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had fed us the manna, and had not given us the Shabbat Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had given us the Shabbat, and had not brought us before Mount Sinai Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had brought us before Mount Sinai, and had not given us the Torah Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had given us the Torah, and had not brought us into the land of Israel Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! If He had brought us into the land of Israel, and had not built for us the Beit Habechirah (Chosen House; the Beit Hamikdash) Dayenu, it would have sufficed us! |
