Thats the wonderful thing about Singmesweet. She refuses to make assumptions about people. She goes straight to them and asks them. Wish more people areond her were that honest.flowerforyou

I agree but even fine wines are a acquired taste

I know. But if you have been the victim of assumptions and lies the way I have recently, you would find it wonderful to know there is at least one person that won't do that.

I've been the other victim Betty.

I alway seem to be on the 'wrong' end of other people's assumptions.

it really sucks when that happens.

People who get to know me do not have an issue with the way I do things. It's only the people who have not gotten to know me.

Plus, some people on here are very sensitive and assume everything is personal in the forums, when it's often not.

There's a very subtle difference between coming across as direct and coming across as aggressive. It's a very fine balance and it DOES take knowing a person to realise the difference.

Your quest for clarity can be a bit intense and seem personalised at times Singme.

I can say this from having been on the receiving end when I first joined the site. I remember feeling singled out and every post/thread scrutinised. I didn’t know whether it was my British colloquialisms that you weren’t getting or something else...

I now know that your comments ARE NOT malicious or personal...it just felt that way at the time flowerforyou .

I sympathise because I know my words can sometimes be misinterpreted/taken the wrong way.

There you go..riddles are not the same as circles

It's alright BBW flowerforyou ...I can handle singme...I put it down to cultural differencelaugh

I have been accused of talking in riddles......straight talking gets me into trouble ...cant win sometimeswaving

Yes, you often go around in circles, which is why I've asked you to clarify what you meant and to be direct. It works much better when you say what you mean, rather than talking in circles.

Either way, you don't always make sense. That's when I ask questions to find out what you're talking about.

As I've said, those who get to know me don't have an issue. So, some are definitely able to figure it out.

It does but unfortunately some people only feel comfortable once they've pigeonholed and categorised someone. The unknown can be scary .

huh

This is what I do with everyone. If something they've said or asked didn't make sense, I ask for clarification. It's tough to have a conversation with or answer questions from people if I don't know what they mean. See previous posts for why I wasn't sure what Optomistic was asking about, since he had replied directly to a post that gave my thoughts on what he was asking.

You've got that covered already. You don't like to make yourself clear. I've seen you do it to others as well. laugh

I think you do it on purpose at times, though in order to be able to argue. That's not why I ask questions, though. I like to see how people think and why they think certain things. And if I'm participating in a discussion with someone and don't understand their question or comment, I will ask.

Sorry to hear that bothers some people. Some will always choose to be offended by something, unfortunately. We all should not have to tiptoe around people and worry that someone will be offended.

Yep. Exactly. I'll leave it at that, as we've all seen asking you questions gets us nowhere.
