Well you can't curse and you can't tell anyone "bite me". So I would say I am toned down here.

You're cursing is toned down but are your comments?

I think that most people choose their words carefully on here but when you comment. Are you saying what you mean/mean?

Yes everything I say is what I mean. I may not always say it just right but I don't change my personality online.
so you really do luv me? smitten

Who I am is not set in stone, its adaptable and always growing

its complex and cant all be expressed in any one moment

so I am always myself, the myself of that moment,,,

I understood what you wrote..I just don't think I fully understood what (all of) it meant - if that makes sense..flowerforyou

I am not restricting myself in terms of toning down. But I still don`t give myself. I don`t, and that is so because I don`t know myself. I can`t give what I don`t know for its substance and essence. Whatever I give is not me, not mine to give, in fact, my entire existence is a theived, stolen property. I did not steal it, but I know that all I know is that I don`t know myself.

So... toning is really down the very long list of important things to do about, with, by, and for myself. First things first: I must find out A.S.A.P. who I am, why I am here, and what planet I come from.

What you see is what you get i.e. WYSIWYG.

I consider myself to be one…a what you see is what you get type of person.

Obviously I’m not totally myself. I do hold back my STFU’s, WTF’s etc but my comments and online persona is petty much who I am in real life.

I know it may seem a weird thread/question but I read something on here earlier that made me wonder..How much of who you are is toned down and user friendly?

I am the same here as I am in person. There's no need to be different.

Those I've met in person from here were also the same here and in person.

I am the same what you see is what you get and I don't hold anything back but the nice thing is I have nothing to gain or lose. I should probably tone down but too damn set in my ways too. devil

It’s not about having something to loose or gain, more how well someone can get to know you online (as it's you...I'll say as a friend ) if what you write doesn’t reflect who you offline.

I rarely say what is on my mind.
I try to be user friendly.
Polite, and kind.
Here for the long run.

Ruthie, you can bite me :-)

I tried to express that in a
short story once. I presented
that the hero, first person
singular, had a dirty, despicable
inner world, and his poetry was
world famous for its beauty. When
they asked him how he does it, he
said, you know how they say that
to write well you must make your
mind into a landscape of beautiful
and interesting things, and then
just write down whatever comes to
mind.

Well, my hero, (I), said in the
story, my mind is disgusting,
despicable, ugly, replusive and
vile. So whenever I write, I use
my adopted method of writing down
only those things that are not on
my mind, and bang, the rest is
history.

I would take me a while to think up some of your comments . It probably comes naturally - I'm gonna leave as it even though I realise that it (my comment) can be taken out of context laugh

I guess its my way of saying that I won't be anything different online than offline. Its because I am not looking for dating that I can be straight forward without worrying about scaring off men for example. This is what I meant about nothing to gain or lose but I suppose that would be the same for friendship.
