Unfortunately, people do lie. If they're being honest, then yes, you can get to know someone by reading what they write depending on what they write. What about people who tell lies fully intending to lead the other person on for whatever reason ...to humiliate...to get kicks..... to gain information???

In this instance, you responded to my post about liars asking about liars. It didn't make sense as I had already said when someone lies, you cannot get to know them. I'd question anyone else who said something that did not make sense to me as well.

Humm they make me tone myself down here for there are times what I really would say in person I can not here hehehehe... Yeah..your language (or cursing, I assume) may be toned down and user friendly. Are your comments/empathy etc? Most of it are Profanities,not Cursing! If a Cop arrests you for Cursing while using Profanities in Public,you might just beat the Rap,if you tell the Judge you weren't Cursing,just using Profanities!

You could have addressed. 1) To humiliate 2) To get kicks 3) To gain information??? I think I see where youre going. Are you saying we can get to know people who lie, in terms of these three ideas? Because if we think they lie, we wonder why. Nice new wrinkle. Sure we can come to understand someone as a liar and get to know them as such. The liar can get to know us by using their lies in this way, too. One never really knows who is behind the voice on screen. That person could be delusional. For instatnce I was talking to a person on one of these sites and for all I know she could have been a he. On the other hand she/he thought I was a split personality.

I don't think it matters why they're lying. If they're lying for any of those three reasons, we're still not going to be able to get to know the real them. Do you think that's not true?
