Whether or not it would actually happen is unknown but the truth is that the US and Israel think there is a serious chance of Iran using a nuke on Israel ... or even smuggling one into New York harbor in a ship. As long as Iran acts crazy, which they do, there is a serious chance that Israel will take out Iran's facilities with either conventional weapons or nukes. They did this to Iraq to rid Saddam of his nuclear power plant but Iran has buried it's facilities deeply making destruction much more difficult. During Iran's war with Iraq, Iran would send thousands of ground troops into intense gun and artillery fire in "human waves" with little regard to human loss of life. The thinking is that, with a population of 77 million, the loss of a significant portion still leaves them with plenty of population left and leadership of the Arab/Islamic world for the destruction of Israel. In any war, where there is a feeling of hopelessness and sacrifice, people are willing to die fighting rather than be enslaved or slaughtered without fighting back. When a country is up against a super power who hires assassins and mercs to put on hoods and slaughter people and commit genocide, then blame it on someone else, the term "all is fair in love and war" comes to the surface. There are atrocities on both sides, always. I don't defend any kind of war. I don't defend aggression or invasion as "defensive" tactics. In my home, if a person invades with intent to do me harm, I am justified to defend myself. I can shoot them. But I cannot legally or morally go find out where they live and invade their home and shoot them and their family. Common sense. |

ANYONE who uses the buzz word Al-qaeda is to be regarded as someone who either believes or is simply spreading lies and propaganda. You are both. What you say goes, eh? And yet, earlier in the thread when someone was telling you that you believed propaganda, you whined about slander. Interesting how you're ok with saying it to someone else, but not when someone says it to you. There's no use arguing with you about anything. All information and news is slanted. Some is outright lies and propaganda. That is why you have to use your common sense to ascertain what is true and what is not. Israel is not innocent, and neither is Pakistan or Iran. There are people infiltrating every country on earth who are motivated by greed and power and are ruthless. There are desperate people everywhere too, who, when threatened, will die for a cause rather than be slaughtered by a bully. It is interesting how I could criticize Iran or Pakistan or Iraq with venom and be called a patriot but if I criticize Israel I am called racist or anti-Semitic or even a traitor. I am a citizen of America. I am and advocate of FREEDOM. I am apposed to violence and aggression and cruelty no matter who is responsible for it. That includes Pakistan and Iran. But it is only when I point out the crimes of Israel that I am attacked. I detest the way women are treated by Islamic fundamentalist and extremist. But whatever is wrong in the world, mass genocide and bombing is an extreme solution, and no better than Hitler's solution. |
