Topic: Senate Votes to Repeal DADT | |
---|---|
It"ll be okay. I doubt many gays will sign up for a Combat MOS. Less than 5% of our entire Military is 11B (Infantry). Most of the Military are in a support role. In the Infantry we called them rear echelon units. We also realized how important their role is to the success of the Combat units mission. I know of a couple who are Special Forces. I know of a ton who are in Infantry. |

on a lighter note, although I dont agree with it this will make at LEAST two historic pieces of legislation under OBAMA,,,making it less likely he will be anywhere near the 'worst of' that people on these threads sometimes hope for future homosexuals, and sickly, and immigrants will definitely be appreciative THIS administration existed,, and I have a feeling those three groups will be the majority of americans in the not so distant future He is still the 'worst of' in many forms. The should be appreciative of the House and Senate not that Doo Doo Head Obama Bin Laden. |

I guess it would be bad if any of that were true. Well, just go back and read the history of the last 3 years. |

noone gets everything their way
I wanted the healthcare reform but many others didnt yet it passed I didnt want DADT repeal but many others did and it passed time to let it go and move on to the next issue |
|

But these chicken sit politicians refuse to move on to the next issue. And they refuse to tackle the very important issues. Instead, they beat around the bush to make news headlines.

Why isn't it? Gay people are already in the military. Many who serve have no issues with it. Just because you don't want to be near gay people does not mean they should have to lie to be in the military. What does that have to do with the "might" of the nation? America was mighty (by any reasonable standard) before there was an official military, and still will be when the military-industrial complex collapses under its own ineptitude, wasteful spending, and archaic design. (and the sooner the military regime falls, the better for America and the world) True might comes from sound money and a stable economy-which we currently lack. When these are restored and American foreign interventionism/militarism ends, prosperity and greatness will return. a nation is only as mighty as it's military...without our military we would be either a English, German or Japanese colony right now... False. The war for independence in the 1780's was not fought by a professional army, but volunteers. (it was a miracle the Americans even won considering that they were outgunned and not nearly as well trained. Also, the FedGov at that time stiffed many of the Revolutionary War vets out of their fair pay. Many died poor and lonely.) As far as the Germans and Japanese, neither had the intent or ability to actually invade America. Japan even sued for peace in American courts, but the FedGov wanted to feed the war machine and war profiteers in the banking and armament industries (as well as in Congress and the White House) kept the silly war machine going. On top of that, there would never have been a WWII had not the US regime intervened in WWI. This WWII mythology you are propagating has been proven false by modern historians such as Pat Buchanan, Murry Rothbard, Tom DiLorenzo, etc. (even historians and journalists such as Garet Garett at the time correctly disagreed, but were ignored because the truth didn't fit the populism of the regime) To believe that "without our military we would be either a English, German or Japanese colony right now" is probably the greatest myth of 20th century American history. |

We didn't come close to losing WW2. Infact Hitler was furious with Japan for bringing us into it. |

Infact Hitler was furious with Japan for bringing us into it. you might wanna read up on that don... just for a few samples of pure coincidence, and Hitlers mistakes is the only reason we won... One big one was that none of our aircraft carriers were in Hawaii on DEC. 7... if the Japanese would have have sunk them to, we would have surly lost Hawaii, and maybe half of the west coast. the aircraft carriers are the only reason we won the pacific battles.. and yes, Hitler was mad, he didn't want the US involved till they took over England, as he was way overextended by that and trying to take Russia and Africa at the same time... Hitler just wanted more time to finnish up then he would have got us into it. |

Homophobic isn't even a real phobia. It's a made up word to try and shame people to accept queers. Infantry soldiers are ruthless. Peer pressure is an acceptable method used by the military to train discipline in combat troops. We had a man get caught jacking off in the showers once. 40 some guys beat the chit out of him, the whole time calling him queer. After medical treatment he never returned to our unit. The Army didn't do that to him. We did. |
