Thats true, but is'nt this guy playing the race card just because he's upset with Stewart??

Stewart didnt do anything to him , which is true. If he has experienced the racism he says he has(and I tend to believe him), I dont think that race was mentioned as a card in his answers. It is relevant to the point of view he has developed from OTHER experiences. But I can see in a broad sense how race card could be applied.

Well, his experiences would have to be validated before he could be believed.

racism is not a card, its a reality

The "race card" was created by white racists to minimalize their crimes against all those they want to dehumanize.

It is the way you blame the victim for what you do to them.

people in media rarely have to VERIFY their points of view or personal experiences,, people believe whom they choose to believe

I tend to believe him because of similar experiences I have had as a minority.

It sounds to me like he's just a whiney crybaby who's perhaps a little jealous of Stewart, and he decided to make big deal asbout it.

And yes, people in the media DO need to verify...why should anyone simply trust what they say??

because most of us dont have time machines to go back and review everything that happens in someone else's personal past,....

why do we even have to classify

Hispanic-American
African-American
Cuban-American
Russian-American.

Why can't we just focus on the common denominator.....AMERICAN!

yes racism exist...but so do those that abuse it and try to turn it into a 'reality' for EVERYTHING!!!

i.e. "it's because i'm(insert race) that I got a speeding ticket!"....no it's because you WERE SPEEDING!

Because people are not willing to take responsibility for their own actions.
Its easier to put the blame on someone else!!

It can be because the police targeted you for your race that you got the ticket instead of whitey doin eighty who blew by you.

Racism exists and noone can discount another person who has been discriminated against for it.]

The only people you ever hear speaking of a race card are whites.

there is a spectrum here on either extreme

those who claim everything is racism, and give up
those who claim nothing is racism, and look the other way

and in the middle, those who can see disparities which correlate to race in the justice system, the healthcare system, and the political and corporate systems , and achieve in spite of while also working towards change

this is so false it isn't even funny.

I am in the Navy and see race sides everywhere...black/hispanic/philipino and i've heard every one of them mention the race card.

and 'whitey' as in a derogatory term? really?

you ASSUME that there was someone else speeding by...and you ASSUME that he/she was white....

you do know what happens when you assume?? you make an a$$ out of u and me

I agree, but it seems people have a hard time finding that 'middle-ground' unfortunately

because life doesnt work that way,, it would be like asking people to just see humans instead of males and females

culture is very much founded in identifiers such as gender and race, and people react accordingly

I think it is just as harmful to ignore racism as it is to take part in racism

Since We Have Our "Cards" on the table here. If the whites are the ones that pulled the"Card" Why would they do that?

If you saw "whitey" going by, I am white so I can say it, doing more than you and you get stopped and you are not white. There is a good chance it was because you were profiled.

Sorry if you don't like the truth but it is the truth.

there is really no logical reason for anyone to use race as a 'card',,,what does it get them,,,,,?

I think that most the time, people mention race because it has caused REAL issues in their lives and communities
