According to the Immigration Law itself, all Legal Immigrants are to carry their Green Card on their person. If they don't have them, they can be detained and status verified.

I have no idea where you keep getting this "on sight" notion from. Here is the text from the actual law:

Why do we now have searches and profiling in airports??...because of mostly Islamic people and their actions.

Profiling certain people can be a very positive thing, and it can actually save lives.

I helped organize one of the first protests, so technically I was one and I NEVER reffered to myself as that and anytime someone uses that word no matter who and what side shows a serious lack of class.
