I haven't been here long, but long enough to take note this topic has not been broached in awhile perhaps.
I LOVE "quotes"...regardless of the source or meaning, as it is truly about one's perception. They serve as a source of learning, strength, humor...and hope at times for me. So? How about we share a few of our favorite "quotes", shall we? I'll start with a few of my faves, from Mr. Pooh...the very wise bear himself: “If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. i'll always be with you.” Or how about... “If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.” Or another that's pretty cool... “The hardest part is what to leave behind, ... It's time to let go!” I have numerous more to share, from various sources...but, share of few of yours, ok? I'll always remain a student and love to learn... |

"Do small things with great love. It's not how much we do, but how much love we put into the doing;
And it is not how much we give, but how much love we put into the giving. to God, nothing is small; The moment we have given it to God, it becomes infinite." ~ Mother Theresa |

and my favorite
from the Alamo Fellow citizens and compatriots; I am besieged, by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna. I have sustained a continual Bombardment and cannonade for 24 hours and have not lost a man. The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken. I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, and our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch. The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily and will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible and die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country. Victory or Death. William Barret Travis Lt. Col. Comdt. "At least we won't have to go through Arkansas to get home" -Davy Crocketts last words at the Alamo |

Another great one from Granny...
When we got hurt, scraped or whatever needed a cute little boo-boo bandaid: "Quit your whining...just rub dirt in it!" |

The death of one person is a tragedy the death of millions is a statistic.
The fastest way to end a war is to lose it. While we think of yesterdays events and plan tomorrows what do we do today. |
