She was a brilliant woman. You are SO right! This one quote...this one beautiful and heartfelt quote means the world to me, and my profession: "Once I knew only darkness and stillness... my life was without past or future... but a little word from the fingers of another fell into my hand that clutched at emptiness, and my heart leaped to the rapture of living." ~ Helen Keller *how powerful the sense of "touch" is* |

You can pretend to be serious, you cant pretend to be witty. Sasha Guitry~ You CAN pretend to be serious, and you CAN pretend to be witty...but, the gift lies in pulling it off successfully. ~ Me Which proves my point. |

You have two ears, and one mouth; use them in the same ratio.
There is no punishment like silence for a fool. A husband who works is love made visable. Assume makes and *** our of you and me. Children learn what they live not what you tell them. You only have the value that you refuse to surrender. Old age is not for sissies. Plan for three outcomes, save twice, spend once. Youth is less than one quarter of your life; save a little living for the other three. Respect given is never wasted. Humor and hatred both have their beginning in the heart. A friend who does not borrow is worth giving all. Seeking why voids finding peace. Little lies poison faith; medium lies poison trust, great lies posion respect. Having honor is the greatest wealth. Compeating for love is like running in fire. Being a good parent is being a vessel your child passes through. Finding the right person is more about being the right person. Thank you is the fragrance of the perfume friendship. |

-Muhammad Ali I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was. -Muhammad Ali I'm so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark. -Muhammad Ali It's hard to be humble, when you're as great as I am. -Muhammad Ali Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even. -Muhammad Ali |

I'm so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.
-Muhammad Ali It would seem that Ali was a fan of Negro league baseball. That or he had heard the story about Cool Papa Bell. Bell had noticed that, in his hotel room, there was a delay between the time he hit the light switch and when the light actually went off. He made a bet ( can't remember exactly what the wager was ) with another player that he could get into bed after hitting the switch before the lights went out. Of course, the other player didn't know about the delay. Needless to say, Bell won the bet. |

I could be mistaken about the player involved. I'm almost positive that it was Cool Papa Bell, though.
Look up stuff about Satchel Paige too. There are some VERY interesting and entertaining stories that originated with Negro League players. |

It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages - Friedrich Nietzsche It is not when truth is dirty, but when it is shallow, that the lover of knowledge is reluctant to step into its waters - Friedrich Nietzsche "Tough times never last, but tough people do." - Robert H.
