Not quite sure which category to put this in.
Describe the personality of another member you know, but ONLY IF YOU HAVE MET THEM IN PERSON. I thought this might be an interesting way of letting others who have not met a better idea of who a person really is, instead of just an online persona (which is more often than not misinterpreted). We'll see how far this goes. |

Well, this should be short lived....I have only met 2 people from this site. Niether one has posted here yet.

Maybe. Maybe not. I have personally met over 100 people from here, so in theory, those same 100+ people also know me, along with all the others everyone has met. We'll see.

I've only met one person who's posting (although I think my boyfriend is planning on meeting Krupa. He doesn't like very many people, so I'm thinking that says something positive in and of itself )
Keith, aka Mr_Music, is possibly one of my favourite friends and I've gotten to meet up with him twice. The first time, he drove for miles to meet up with me and my kids, in Michigan, for my birthday. I really appreciated the gesture. As cantankerous and unbending as he sounds, he never once lit up a cigarette in front of my children, even though I said it was okay back at the hotel room, if he opened the window. I really appreciated that gesture too. I got to haul him down in Lake Superior and, even though I ruined his good runners, he was a good sport about it and still talks with me to this day. He tells it like it is in real life too but, surprisingly, I found him much more quiet than I expected. Perhaps though, that was because me and Deb were talking so much, he couldn't get a word in. He's good people. (but only if you think my opinion is worthy!) |

Well since Mr_Music is the only person so far that i have met who is above me..
I have met Keith twice. He is very unlike his online persona, he comes accross as a laid back chappie and is highly tongue in cheek. Online he is much more blunt and to the point, making him seem like he is a harsher charachter than what he is. He is a great laugh and an all round nice bloke. Much funnier than me in real life(whereas online, i kick his arse!) Edit - ok i have met papersmile too! I'll get around to describing her, when i am feeling nicer! lol! |

He's good people. (but only if you think my opinion is worthy!) Okay! Here we go! (Thank you, Lisa!) Lisa is one of the most wonderful friends I have ever met from online. The occasional "crusty' exterior she portrays online is not really how she is in real life at all, although I promise you she will have no problem telling you exactly how it is. She's fun and flirty, has a very infectious laugh, and is a general joy to be around. Robin is a very lucky man (and she is a very lucky woman, in turn, as well). Incidentally, she blindsided me in Lake Superior. She attacked from behind, but I still managed to get the upper hand. Sorry about your leg, though. That was not intentional. |

Hey Keith...maybe you should change this to who you have met OR talked on the phone with?

Dan is a man I was very pleased to have the opportunity of meeting twice, and I am very honored to call him my friend. His online persona is very different than in real life. He's very gentile, polite, and quite a gentleman, yet still knows how to cut it loose. He's funny as hell, don't let him try to tell you otherwise. If I could ever have a younger brother, I would be pleased for it to be this scousy git!

As you know Keith, I've met some folks too, some are members here, but never post. In fact, think you're the only one among the ones I've met who does post.
I'm really glad you came up with this thread. I think people should know that hard-azz and nonconformist persona you protray here is, in fact, true, LOL! I know though, you also have a kind heart, wicked sense of humor, are courteous and kind and have a sensitive side. Besides all that, your lap is perfect for sitting in, you give GREAT hugs, have a killer smile and your butt fills out a pair of Levi's perfectly! |

Before I met Dan99 for the first time, he kept warning me that he was not as funny in real life as he was online.
He took me to dinner, atop the CNTower on his last night in town before flying to America (and it's a pretty classy joint). I was hyperventilating during dinner when he posed for me with a piece of spinach hanging to his Adam's apple. I think he might have been hoping I'd choke. He also let me wear his sweater on that last cold night coming home from Ottawa as I'd stupidly forgotten to pack my own. However crass (or should I say 'ass'?) he might appear, he is truly a gentleman and a wonderful, generous and appreciative house guest. He also got lost quite a few times, once when his driver was too stupid to pay attention to my directions, once in downtown Toronto, and once in Ottawa. Or maybe I was just trying to lose him! I think, besides Robin, he's probably my best online friend and one with whom I've no doubt I'll always keep in touch. An extremely laid-back person, a definite last-minute planner, amiable, and agreeable to any alternate suggested plans. Heck, even my parents liked him, and that's one tough feat! |
