I see Judy (Fade2Black) floating around the forums right now. She was one of the first people I met from online. We had a great get-together at her home in Colorado, the largest one to date at that time. A very gracious host, she really does love her wine. She enjoys playing billiards, and she can drive like a bat outta hell. It was all we could do to keep up with her on the highway from her house up to Estes Park. She's a very classy lady, and best of all, she's a Packer fan! Wow .. I am flattered for such a nice write up! I can't say enough good things about Keith tho either. He's a blast from the past for sure! Kept us laughing a boatload with his dry wit and candid sarcasm .. Contrary to what you may think Keith, we (including ME) actually LOVE your cynicism .. it's hysterical. ((((((((((((((( GO PACK )))))))))))))))) ps .. I don't have my RX8 anymore, but I drive my Beamer JUST as fast .. lol |

I only know 3 people on here but I didn't meet them here. So I don't guess that counts.

Andy (talldub)....now THAT'S a big sumbytch! By the same token, he's a huge teddy bear. A gentle giant of a man. I had the pleasure of going shopping for clothes with him on his first trip to America (quite a challenge, given his size). Fortunately, we found a clothing shop for large men, and I helped him pick out some things, including a green Guiness t-shirt which I've seen him wear several times in photos. Apparently he liked it. This is a great guy to have your back, as he will definitely be there for you.
And he can put away a HELL of a lot of Irish whiskey, too! |

Well overall I've met as many people from online as Keith has, but from a boatload of different sites. Some from here, but most from an old site a lot of us met on., and then a ton of first dates that were more local, that I never took further.
It is what it is eh? LOL Do have to say, that meet we had at my house was the BOMB DIGGITY!!! |

I'm glad you spelled that in that way.

Months ago I had a date planned with someone from here - but due to work reasons (he was a police officer), we did not meet. As I was sitting here posting my "woe is me, I am so disappointed" 1st post ever in the forums, a wonderful man - Ekho - posted he was right down the street and wanted to know if I would like to meet for a beer.
He was everything he appeared to be on his bio - plus a bag of chips. He was a total gentleman, had a wonderful sense of humor, a great singer and genuinely awesome. Recently, he and his ex decided to give it another shot - I don't blame him. He has 10 years history and a child with her. But I was very honored to meet and spend time with him. It gave me faith that people are what they say they are. |

Another one of my personal favourites is Lisa, Pink_Lady. Although we don't talk nearly as much as Dan and I do, she's a remarkable woman, and exactly in real life as she appears online: sweet, intelligent, kind and generous (and looks great in a pair of jeans!).
She was SO thoughtful to my children, especially my youngest, who fell in instant love with her, and followed her everywhere. Poor Dan, he probably wanted some alone time and at every opportunity, Lisa was engrossed in something with my kids - from showing them how to make daisy necklaces, to eating their pretend food. She and Dan did good finding each other; they truly are made for each other. |

You are entirely correct. She's a lovely, charming woman. I can't add much more than you've already stated. |

Doesn't it do your heart good when someone is kind and supportive to your children? .. yep yep Great way to a mommie's heart is thru her children .. and you can read a genuine spirit that way too. Well I've met Dan .. not enough good things to say about my funny UK friend. He's generous to a fault and keeps you laughing constantly. I look forward to meeting his woman (Lisa) someday. I am working on a trip to England/Scotland for my daughter's HS graduation present next year .. I would love to meet up with them then. Still looking to meet up with the pretty woman who wrote this as well. |

Sadly the t-shirt is no longer part of my wardrobe, I lost so much weight that it was starting to look ridiculously big on me, when I bought it I bought a size up thinking I'd grow into it! As I sit here typing this I'm wearing one of the t-shirts that I got on my birthday in MI last year, they were too small for me to wear at the time. I remember that day we went to the clothes store, you and Deb were in the car initially and then you came in, remember how excited I was just to find a Pink Floyd t-shirt that fit?! LOL! I'll post more later, got to go take photos and post on my weight loss blog or I'll be shot by my friend! |

I have met that giant above me.
Biggest arsehole i ever met, in all respects. Luckily i am equally an arsehole so we got like a (brick sh1t) house on fire. We outlived everyone else at the meet we were at and carried on the drinking around the fire until the very early hours. A true gentle giant(until he sits on you). We've been talking about meeting for another drink up, but we both have had to lay off the booze a bit lately. We'll get around to it before too long. He is like my brother from my mothers lover. |

I've met 4 men from Mingle...so far.
#1. Joe...nice guy. We met for coffee/tea twice. nothing more than that. #2. Robert...we met in Baltimore, Inner Harbor. We were going to be there for 4 days. We had such plans, going to the aquarium there. They have puffins, I thought that it was going to be a nice way to spend a day. He became deathly ill the first night there. We left the following morning...early. I keep telling myself....you can't fake a fever. I never heard from him again...surprisingly enough. #3. Guy....came to NY to meet me all the way from South Dakota. We knew each other more than 6 months before he came here for a visit. He was here for 11 days. We made such plans, none of which came true. I barely talked to him when he got back home. I knew since than that I cannot have a LDR, it just does not work for me. #4. Billy....nice guy. We've met for breakfast...coffee a few times. I've decided that I don't want anything from him. We hardly even talk here anymore. They are not in the forums. There is not much more I can say. |

This really surprises me. I would've thought this thread would really take off. Am I to understand that we're all here on a social site, but only a few of us have actually ever met anybody in person?

I think more people meet, but they don't participate in the forums much, if at all.
