i did it natural at 16... and it wasnt that bad... what was awful was they took my baby away without me seeing him... his cord was wrapped around his neck.. and his lungs werent developed.

the labor out in the suburbs is always great.....for immigrants.......and community slaves! anyway......minimum wage is rediculous_

I had an easy time with both my children, my only suggestion is to stay active.

Make sure you are getting plenty to drink and walk as much as possible as you get closer to your due date.

1st born labor was 3 hours, 2nd was 5. Many women have horror stories, thankfully I do not.

Yes it hurts but it is the most easily forgotten pain until you have to do it again

It's not that bad. It's not pleasant. but going through the 9 months of pregnancy was far worse for me. Plus, it will be over before you know it. I watched TV until I started having contractions. I did throw up so that was kinda gross. but trust me---It will be so worth it when you hold you baby in your arms. There are no words to decsribe it. I was sobbing like crazy because I was so happy!I finally got to meet my little one. He's 5 now but I still remember that day like yesterday...

You should be scared! lol..just kidding. I had an awful time but that was also 27 years ago. My doctor let me be in labor for 22 hours before he did the c-section. Later I found out I was his very first one. At that time they were cracking down on the amount of surgeries.

Good luck and you'll forget about the pain as soon as you see that baby!!

my first delivery HURT!

i wasn't dilating after my water broke and, having a fever, they felt it best to induce labour. but after the epidural, i didn't feel a thing and even managed to get a solid night's sleep! (it was a long labour, haha)

the 2nd two were drug free, FAST, and not nearly as much pain. in fact, after my second daughter was born, i swear i could have gone out jogging immediately afterward.

Ive also never given birth but its VERY painful from what I have been told. My mother is a labor and delivery nurse of 25 years. If you are very frightened (and smaller) then you want to have whats called an "epidural" injection. This will block a lot of the pain receptors from the mid waist down. This will serve to minimize your pain. Its good for a first time mother.

Seriously, though, they say the healthiest babies are born to the people who do not worry too much about it (mental stress is known to put more physical stress on both the mother and the child). Also, stay in good shape and exercise when you are pregnant (easier said than done I suppose, especially for us men).

I had a natural birth with my first less than 4 hours start to finish from water breaking to her being born. And yes I would strongly recommend staying as active as possible because it makes it soo much easier.


2nd was a C-section which I would never ever ever want to repeat again. It hurt much more, had complications from the medicine they gave me, infections from the stitches and on and on and couldn't move that entire day.


But I must agree that most doctors now won't just let you suffer, there is medicine out there to easy the pain and for the most part it's over and done with and just a fuzzy memory replaced with your new baby

For the most part Labor does hurt. If you're terrified it hurts worse. The mind is a powerful thing. Just keep distracted and keep in mind that you'll have a new baby soon.

Stay active and Have sex...it keeps everything stretched. I know that seems dumb but I didn't tear or anything! and my doctors credited that to me staying sexually active (with my hubby at the time).

Hmmmm.... one's threshold, one's education, one's confidence in their body....all contribute to what labour may be like...

Four kids, I was 21 when I had the first... a fast labour, 2 hours from go to whoa...painless, but crazy! Too fast for all of us...

the second, I was 25, gentle, calm, pain free also...an hour and a half of labour...

the third, at age 30... same as second, however a little longer just under three hours, a bigger baby, than the other two...


the last, at 33... an hour's labour, delivered alone, so very beautiful, gentle and connected... again, no pain...

pressure? YES!!! pain? no...
