Well, of course, I've never heard of him.. . Until I met Keith, Mr_Music, my view of music was very narrow, but...thanks to him, I'm spreadin my wings a bit. I did listen to cut from this album tho..really a unique sound!
He's the lead singer in the group Yes - one of my favourite bands of all time. The album I mentioned was his first (and best) solo effort. I saw Yes in concert in the 70's.

Pancho and Lefty by Townes Van Zandt-
A Townes Van Zandt's own cover-
(my dear departed friend. And, that's our mutual friend, Nanci Griffith, that introduces it.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtzgwNDZAs4&feature=related An Emmy Lou Harris' cover- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsV_NWa1ZG8&feature=related She does it best, but I'm ultra-biased as she is my favotite female singer.
A Willie Nelson and Merle haggard's cover- (that's Townes in the video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxzJAF1BxP4 A Willie and Bob Dylan cover- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPMxJROHInM&feature=related There are SO many more, these will have to you.tube do...

http://www.last.fm/music/Patsy+Cline/_/The+Wayward+Wind Oh My Dear God, I'm shaking.
This is SO fine. Thank you dear.
You are a godess among women. I'm going to need some time alone with this one. I'm ever so touched and humbled.
And, broken up...
(.. I fall to pieces... )
