How old does a track have to be to qualify as an "oldie"?
I recently rediscovered my love for Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird - while the lyrics may be far from "feel good", the last segment never fails to lift my spirits; playing along to that incredible guitar solo makes me feel so damn good! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=O1mCQKuvzCM |

I'm sure there's an official answer to what is an oldie, but for me, it varies for everyone I think Lynyrd Skynyrd fits here! |

I tend to think of music that is older than myself (which is most of the music I listen to) as oldies - I just listened to Jon Anderson's Olias Of Sunhillow (1976) from start to finish. WOW! What a fantastic album!

What a fantastic album! Well, of course, I've never heard of him... Until I met Keith, Mr_Music, my view of music was very narrow, but...thanks to him, I'm spreadin my wings a bit. I did listen to cut from this album tho..really a unique sound! |

I did listen to cut from this album tho..really a unique sound! He's the lead singer in the group Yes - one of my favourite bands of all time. The album I mentioned was his first (and best) solo effort. |

This song was on the juke box in my folks' bar when I was kid. If we're gonna go in the country direction, I can make this thread go the rest of the way to 50 pages all by myself!! |

Play some great ones, yeah? Luckily, my range is diverse, so I'll spare us too much. But, this one was SUCH a bridging classic! |
