I think "hate is to strong of a word but they definately had some strong disagreements on some of the men I have dated...They also wisely didn't say much, I have to say the percentages are about 50/50 on if they were right or not. |

My dad was out of the way early and my mum never questioned and always welcome with open arms whoever was in my life. Did she agree or like them probably not all of them but she is gracious enough to let me make my mistakes.

Thank you I just have so much fun with your threads. I look for them each time I come in. To stay on topic here when my children were growing up I kept the same counsel as my parents did, I would state the reasons why I didn't approve and hope for the best. |

No about dates, but certain friends I had growing up, my father would say he didn't trust some people & he was right....cop instinct

Yes they did hate a person I dated (I was 19 he was 32) And yes they were right; wished I had listened. |

mom has never liked anyone I dated or married... but she never interferred well except in one case the one she relly loved ( and still does) she walked out on me yet my mom sends cards to her I never got it

Definitely! If I had listened to my mom I wouldn't have married the jerk. But the one good thing I got out of the whole mess is my amazing son. |

Every guy I dated that my mom said was bad news, she was right. It might have taken me a while longer to figure it out but every time she ended up right! LOL

Once I started paying my own way in life at a fairly early age, I made it clear to my parents that I really didn't care what they think of anyone I've dated.
