I actually prefer Happy Holidays because that statment is all inclusive and denies no one the right to recognize their own personal spirituality and beliefs or lack there of in the case of Atheism or Agnostics. for some reason...my fourth grade teacher just flashed in my mind with that answer... ...very serious...direct...graphicly proper...gulp !!!...lol |

Well to answer your question, if a person verbally says "Merry Christmas" to me on the street or something I am not going to scream and yell obscenities at them or take offense. Some people might. I just assume that they are Christians and somewhat insensitive to the spirituality of others and that those might differ from that of their own. No harm I guess.
In public thoroughfares though absolutely "Happy Holidays" is appropriate on signage. |
