He's got a huge job to do and was left some horrible problems to clean up. Unfortunately, the skeptical republicans aren't going to be happy unless he performs a miracle.

The Republicans are the ones who created all this mess . They should be thankful that he is trying to clean their farce of 8 full years .

This is a prime example of thinking that will wreck this country...

The old saying "It takes TWO to TANGO."

Selective memory cares to forget that Congress had to pass/approve everything done.....

"Pass the Buck" .... people it accomplishes nothing except heads stuck in sand....

People refusing to accept THEIR faults/failures/wrong decisions/hatred to others ...... and admitting them, if to no one but themselves....accomplishes nothing

AND ONLY PROMOTES DIVIDEDNESS........

OMG

I agree with Linddy on something.

Every day Americans have advocated responsibility in this mess. Now a whole bunch of them are sitting on their asses waiting for Obama to fix it.

He and congress cannot alone.

Man up ladies and gentlemen!

Which is why I say, we reinstate a new deadline where Iraq is required to be self-sufficient to the point htat when we leave at the culmination of said deadline, they will not fail.

And we must above all else, leave by that deadline, or htey will continue to use us for ever.

how you can think Iraq wants us out, when we our providing their entire military force so to speak, and doing everything for them, is beyond me. They do not want us out. Otherwise they would already have stepped up to the plate, taken responsibility for their own military and police, etc and we wouldnt be there.

Iraq, for the most part, doesn't want us out. We pull out, they start killing each other. Iran, Syria, Turkey, maybe even Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, will all fight over a chunck of the broken country...

I have your back on that. I know many Iraqi people, and have met many, many more.

However, we cannot afford this foreign policy of ours. It's costing us trillions. We are going bankrupt at the expense of our own citizens. We are also destroying the value of our own dollar...

Iraq will, and should take care of itself someday, hopefully soon. But i hope we learned that we cannot police the world anymore. We can no longer be the U.N.'s private army.

We need someone to look at our foreign policy as a whole, not just Iraq... (tsk, tsk, Obama...)

No Winx, their not. They are refusing to take over the running of their own government efficiently, trying to claim ignorance, and inability in order to keep us there to do their job(s) for them.

Not only that, but being a non-christian DOES NOT DISQUALIFY A PERSON FROM BEING THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. The United States is NOT a religious country, contrary to those who would try and say otherwise just because Christianity appears to be the primary religion in the Country.

bow down on his carpet face whichever way he has to and pray to allah

Who cares what religion he is? Do you honestly believe that Christianity is so holier-than-thou? Have you never heard of the crusades, or Hitler? More people have been tortured and killed in the name of the Christian faith than in all other religions combined. Quite frankly, I hope he is Muslim, or Jewish, or atheist or agnostic. Being a non-Christian does NOT equal terrorism or Godlessness.

Daniel,

I have heard differently last week. I heard that they want us out by a certain time frame unless they ask us for help.

I havent listened to NPR, in a few weeks, So I do not know hwat has been reported on their recently. I do however, know what friends are telling me (friends that are stationed over there), and from reading reports and such on the subject. last I knew, Bush had set a deadline for removal of troops, then refused to remove them when Iraq was "not ready" to govern itself. Since then Iraq has continually dug their toes in, so to speak and refused to "be ready". And who can blame them for choosing to let another country do their dirty work and fight their fights if that is a possibility? I would do so myself.

So right now, it is still my belief, that Iraq is doing their level best to NOT take control of their own country ina way that will allow us to leave everything in their hands and expect them to survive.

We've already got one within a year or so i think...

What they need to do is give deadlines for afganistan/pakistan, and everywhere else we are located (like korea). Then withdraw from the U.N. and NATO, and shred most of our policies signed on their behalf.

nahhh they expected to be in and out in a couple of weeks. They didn't plan on every disgruntled Muslim to strap on a bomb and come to visit

it was their error, but they didn't plan on so much interference from Iran and Syria

The actual war in Iraq was over years ago

The war over? Oh we will call it keeping the peace. We have to either stay or support their military( With weapons and technology to defend its self) Thats sounds strangly like what got us there in the first place and all ready bit us in the AZZZ.JMO
