Oprah was neutral through most of this campaign, hasn't given financial backing (at least not as far as we know, lol) - and in fact when she discussed on Larry King Live that she supported Obama over Hillary Clinton, her ratings took a nosedive - Oprah is watched by a very conservative audience. And she didn't really give any specifics points that would comprise an official endorsement. Regardless of who she's voting for, there's no real endorsement, much less any muscle behind the Obama campaign.

I absolutely can't believe the extent of justification that McCain supporters are going to...

I'm anxiously awaiting the results of this election, if for no other reason than just to prove that there are more open-minded people who are willing to vote based on issues, rather than prejudiced people who fear "a black man" in the office, or ignorant enough to believe [without even thinking about debunking] that Obama is a Muslim, is a terrorist, are afraid of his middle name, or any other reason.

To me, one HUGELY important issue is global affairs - Bush has destroyed our once respected standing in the world - now we look like militant bullies, rather than a pillar of reason.
If you look at global poll results, it's unbelievable we even have a close election. The polls are close in this country - around the world, the average is close to NINETY PERCENT favoring Obama, TEN percent favoring McCain!
That alone should throw red flags for McCain supporters...
Personally, I want to join the world again, and earn our respect back. Right now, we are like the red headed bully kid from The Christmas Story, as far as the rest of the world is concerned. It's time to invest in global affairs! Not ignorance.

My view, why Obama is the WRONG candidate for the President of the United States of America


I'm writing this as an immigrant from Germany, but in my heart I'm American since many, many years. I live like an American, I feel like an American, I think like an American – that I would say I am feeling as American, who was unfortunately born in Germany. America is my home and I wouldn't like to see, if the traditional values of the United States are betrayed. I came from Germany in 2007, so I'm able to inform you and to show you, what you can expect, if Barack Hussein Obama will become President of the United States of America and will translate his (and the Liberals) ideas and plans into action. I lived (too long) in such a system, Obama is heading to! Obama is leading America down a path of self destruction. At the end of this letter to the citizens of America I'll give an overlook and some information about the situation in Germany, a country which is turning left/socialistic more and more.

And even within the boundaries of the USA - I haven't seen a poll showing McCain in the lead at all, at any point.

Once upon a time, around the invention of the telephone, they used this new tool to conduct national surveys to try to predict the president. Result of the telephone survey? Landslide Republican.
Result of the election? Landslide Democratic victory.
How can this be? Only the rich had telephones at that point in time.

Very very similarly - who still uses AOL? Largely the extremely conservative, who were willing (for some reason) to pay $25/month for dialup when other services out there were $10/month... now not even AOL charges anymore, but they retain their customer base. You see no bias in that?

Try looking at what the rest of the world sees.

I've found one thing: When I'm standing in a room and find myself in the minority, chances are good that I'm wrong...
...in this case, with such a large chunk of McCain support coming from the prejudiced and ignorant, it paints that picture even more strongly, IMO - because not only isn't he ahead (even in this country), but a good chunk of his support is fundamentally prejudice and ignorance based - which would make him even less ahead, if those votes weren't allowed to count.
