I think it's pretty natural! According to the preacher at church when I was 16, he said the top three things that occupy a man's mind is- 1. Sex 2. Money 3. Work He said, in that order lol and that he was no different.. Just because you talk about it, doesn't mean you are going to do it. Who knows, it could just be a defense mechanism that is holding the poor guy back, maybe talk about it and get it out-of-the-way, who knows it could be a diamond in the rough.
And your preacher was full of crap. People think about the things most when they hold dear to them, so what your preacher was saying here is Sex, Money, and Work are the things he holds to be the most important to him. I would seriously suggest fining another preacher and or possibly church. ESPECIALLY since God wasn't on the top of that list. I think he was just more in touch with reality than you are brother. You can be honest and just say that you think he is full of crap because he did not hold the same perspective that you do. Anyway, he just passed away and was one of the better human beings I have ever met. He also used to say that it was important in a relationship that the couple designate one day to have sex no matter what. And that even if you have sex any other times during the week, it is still important to have sex on your designated day. He claimed that his and his wife's designated day was Sunday believe it or not. And he also said, that does not mean that you cannot do it more than once in a day ha ha Only if sex is that important to you. And designating a day for it, would make it feel more of an appointment and not necessarily spontaneous. Would loose it's passion that way when it's already premeditated to happen ahead of time. And what if one of the two aren't in the mood on the "designated" day? Well, being that he was happily married for 60+ years, I did not feel that was in a position to argue the point. You do not see many failed marriages due to the fact that they were having sex on a regular basis, however you do see failed marriages because they weren't having sex on a regular basis. Not exactly sure what you are trying to argue here, however it is rather cute

Because after we were married, I could not wholeheartedly accept her the way she was thus she always fell short of my expectations and was incapable of fitting the bill. Having realized stay and inability to accept her, I felt that divorce was a better option than trying to force her to be someone she could not. Of course, that being the major thing, it also impacted my attitude in a negative way, also causing a string of a lot of little problems along the way as well.
Long story short, one day I woke up and consciously decided to be an a$$hole... Hope this helps!

Are Christians going to be judged according to what they eat or drink or smoke? I don't think so. If that were the case, then all of those overweight preachers would be in big trouble. Same could be said about who they do and don't sleep with... Or else the preacher in my Baptist Church growing up is going to be in big trouble for having an affair with one of the deacons wife.. Yes, sexual sin is something that Christians will have to give an account for. Would you believe that the congregation brought the preacher in front of them and actually asked if they had sex when she was pregnant with his child? |

Have think I should only expect somebody to do what they say they are going to, expecting them to do anything that I have preconceived in my head that they have not committed to seems a bit unrealistic to me...
I think there is willingness and unwillingness ... I am willing to accept you the way you are however I am unwilling to accept dishonesty, unfaithfulness, and disrespect.. Seems pretty reasonable to me. If there is a pattern in your life and things were not important years ago and are now, who is to say that other things will not become important that were important today and things that are important today will no longer be a necessity or important then.. If the person follows the same expectations down the road when things of today become no longer important in the future and the expectations of today do not jive with the changes of tomorrow.. Where will the relationship be? (H)onesty (O)penmindedness (W)illingness No expectations... Just a thought
