Yeah, I have already explained to you how I feel about your reluctance to express your own feelings and opinions. Pfft. Dont think I am singling you out either. Anyone on this forum who deliberately ignores questions or comments in lieu of sticking some website up there, is lacking in cognitive ability and function. In other words, its a cop out.

God doesn't let awful things happen ... I don't usually jump into these types of conversations, but this is a beautifully concise example of the reason behind my own disbelief in a "One True God".
1) God has the ability to stop awful things from happening 2) God does not do so. If both of those statements are true, then god does, in fact, "let awful things happen". So which one of those 2 statements is false? Answer: yes god does have the "ability" to stop awful things from happening, but according to beliefs - if he did so he would be interfering with man's free will as to crimes against man on man. As to natural events - earthquakes, typhoons/hurricanes,tsunami's, floods, etc., he allows what he put into motion to do as it was intended to do and act as it was intended to act. If people decide to live in areas where these things occur seasonally - who is to blame? god or man? just a philosophical look at things. |

Explain to me again how the "free will" aspect of it comes in when you are going to hell if you refuse to buy into this? That point always confuses me. Say I choose NOT to accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. Arent I exercising my free will? Why should I be condemned to hell in that case? Not to mention the proselytizing and constant need to warn people that they are going to hell for their lack of belief. Isnt that sewing the seeds of discourse among brethren? Isnt that kind of behavior prohibited in some respect? Can a Christian go to hell for over spreading the word?

When the different parts are digitally united next year in a £1m project, anyone will be able to compare and contrast the Codex and the modern Bible.
Firstly, the Codex contains two extra books in the New Testament. One is the little-known Shepherd of Hermas, written in Rome in the 2nd Century - the other, the Epistle of Barnabas. This goes out of its way to claim that it was the Jews, not the Romans, who killed Jesus, and is full of anti-Semitic kindling ready to be lit. "His blood be upon us," Barnabas has the Jews cry. I wonder why they want to wait until next year to put this on the internet. Thier own words say it will not take them that long to do it as they say it will be on i believe it said July. But waiting to put this great discovery on the internet. They feel it is so important it needs to be on the internet but apperently it needs to be scrutinized for thier final approval of this work. If it is such an important find they would not wait they would put it on the internet as it is now but not doing so the ONLY conclusion you can make is it is a fraud. As many antiqued artifacts that have have gone through Cairo have been proven to be. Waiting is not truthful. Thier is no reason 2. Shalom...Miles |

Morningsong wrote: "Remember reading, How God made a PERFECT WORLD IN THE BEGINNING... and Made Man in His Image....GOD CREATED PERFECTION??!!! "" TRIBO REPLY: My lady, "WHERE" does it say god made a >>perfect<< world, i cannot find that anywhere. If your talking about "genisis" - the only thing stated there is that god made it and said it was >>>GOOD<<< not perfect. BUT!, the book does state that >>>NOAH<<< was - "Ge 6:9 These are the generations <08435> of Noah <05146>: Noah <05146> was a just <06662> man <0376> and perfect <08549> in his generations <01755>, and Noah <05146> walked <01980> (8694) with God <0430>. PERFECT in his generations, according to strong's the word Perfect translates from the meaning - without blemish, or spot perfect. and generations means - period, age [aeon] - So it was not a perfect world, but Adam started out sinless, then when he fell, sin came upon the entire world correct? This would have included Noah correct [since the sin nature is given to everyone at birth] correct? then how can it be said of Noah that he was "PERFECT" and that he "walked with god" [as Adam supposedly did?] Unless you can show me the scripture that states god made everything "perfect" then your stuck with this as well as noah's being perfect after the fall of Adam. What if we came to this Earth from perfect ness actually TO experience this "sin"? What if it was part of the grand design? Could an imperfect world have been "created" to purpose more? If this "sin" experience/lesson has been central to the curriculum from which we draw to complete a human cycle, wouldn't running from our assignments hold us back in our education/development/spiritual evolution (call it what-ever you like)? So, when (any) religion or person tells us (or we tell ourselves) that we MUST combat "sin", we interpret it to mean that we MUST avoid it at all possible costs or be damned to eternal Hell. We slavishly deny any bad in ourselves. Could this not mean that we've been stunting our own growth by running from the lesson? Why do you suppose we only use 10% of our brains' potential capacity? Could it be because we have been slaves to this phenomenon, blowing our proverbial load on having to be "good"? By NO means is this a suggestion that we all just go nuts and forget about being "decent" (what ever that is... NOT defining it). Don't even go there. Aw, C'mon my lady - i want to "go there" SL: "What if we came to this Earth from perfectness actually TO experience this "sin"? What if it was part of the grand design? Could an imperfect world have been "created" to purpose more? TRIBO: I believe "sin" was in the original design if you want to follow the book god - if he did for-see the end first as i believe he would have had to - then in going back [devolution] he would have had to make choices before beginning creation to allow sin into the over-all picture. SL: ""If this "sin" experience/lesson has been central to the curriculum from which we draw to complete a human cycle, wouldn't running from our assignments hold us back in our education/development/spiritual evolution (call it what-ever you like)?"" TRIBO: Most likely - yes - but in the case of an all knowing god, who's "PLAN" is to have us accept him so that this will be our final lesson, so there will be no more "rebirths" so to say, then it is absolutely necessary to accept his terms or be done away with - what ever that may be -[hell, infinite seperation, etc..] SL: Yeah, but... What if it isn't in His "PLAN" to have us accept him? What if the importance of accepting him has been conjured up by mortals along the way? Another words... What if God wasn't the slightest bit interested in our accepting "Him" or "his" only begotten "son"? We mere mortals have assigned this personality that suggests a demand for total adulation. This is a human characteristic. Personally... I don't think "He" gives a damn. If anything, I would think "He" would find a lot of humor in man-made religion. But, what do I know... SL: So, when (any) religion or person tells us (or we tell ourselves) that we MUST combat "sin", we interpret it to mean that we MUST avoid it at all possible costs or be damned to eternal Hell. We slavishly deny any bad in ourselves. TRIBO: Well, now thats up for debate - god does not really expect us to be perfect on our own he says and planned for the very fact that we could not be perfect on our own, Therefore his plan before creation began was to supply us with a way out of not being able to hit the mark of perfection. AKA - jesus/himself. We can't deny bad for ourselves accept for ABRA only abra is perfect. he should have been named "Abra-ham" But seriously, we cannot avoid sin while in this body wearing this flesh, we can only do the best we can do - if the C's are right, then we will perish, if abra's right we will just die and thats it, if JB's right we will go on forever being creative beings, and if your right, then we will be sitting at our computers in the next life in a chat room named- splendid life's forum for the wanderer's" - SL: Saying God expects or doesn't expect anything is kind of silly to me... Actually... Given those three possibilities, I'd tend to lean in JB's direction. SL: Could this not mean that we've been stunting our own growth by running from the lesson? TRIBO: NO! SL: Tee Hee SL: Why do you suppose we only use 10% of our brains' potential capacity? Could it be because we have been slaves to this phenomenon, blowing our proverbial load on having to be "good"? TRIBO: I have wondered about this - 10% of our brains capacity thing. could it not also possibly be true that were using our full capacity? and maybe this is the way it was originally designed? who's to say what the reason for the other 90% of our brains is not meant for things like back up memory or other things. i think maybe all the brain is being used - just in ways we don't understand as now - MO. I know what "blowing your load means - does proverbial mean your saying or thinking "proverbs" while doing so - SL: Uhhhh, yeah... Sompin' like that. SL: By NO means is this a suggestion that we all just go nuts and forget about being "decent" (what ever that is... NOT defining it). TRIBO: I don't think we can "FORGET" about being decent or anything else one See's as good my lady. I think it is inherent to our nature, taught by fine points as one continues to live and grow and experience - this is where moral features within us are developed both naturally and by example and by consequences when not adapted by us or others. JMO. SL: Just taking into account some of the reactions these ideas may encounter. Being "good" is fine and dandy... Don't get me wrong. Jesus or no Jesus, feeling eternally doomed for never quite being "good" enough seems like a ****ty way to live. |

Wel K, it's the proverbial - if your in a plane and its crashing and i offer you a parachute and you refuse it and "willingly go down in flames to your death - who's fault is it - the person/god that offered you the chute, or yours? did you not use your will as you saw fit? did the person offering renig on there offer? NO - so that's how i see free will in this particular instance. Another way is like when i lived in florida and people on the beaches would stay and have hurricane parties even though the police had done everything they could [since they had no law to force them to leave] to get them to evacuate but they [by and with their own free will chose to stay and suffer the concequences, free will can be a ***** huh. |

Good post Miles.... God in His Word Said All this would happen...what is now happening.... therefore not surprising... But can't you see how absurd this would be for a God MorningSong? A God who expects people to believe in a book on pure faith knows ahead of time that there are going to be conflicting documents? What sense does that make? I thought God was supposed to be interested in good behavior and what's in a person's heart. Why all these stupid guessing games of which doctuments might be the actual word of God and which ones might be fakes? That's utterly stupid. All of God's moral demands are reduced to a stupid guessing game! What kind of a God would pull such a nasty stunt? I thought he was supposed to be a loving caring God who wants to HELP people, not confused the hell out of them! It makes absolutely no sense at all that a divine spreme being would pull a nasty stunt like that to try to fool decent HONEST PEOPLE! The only way this makes sense at all is if MEN wrote the popular biblical documents and wanted to try to BRAINWASH people into believing that anything that wasn't written by THEM is a false doctrine. No genuinely righteous loving, caring, fatherly figure God would pull such a dirty low-down trick on decent honest people! As far as I'm concerned the mere fact that the bible even says these things is proof positive that it was written by unscrupulous controlling men. They try to get their readers to kill heathens and sinners because they know they are going to be around to do that dirty work. What kind of a God would ask people to do his judging and excutions for him? Only a manmade God that doesn't exist. For if the God truly did exist he's have a list of who's naughty and nice and he's know who need to be dealt with and he'd deal with them himself. This Bible is clearly written by men who are trying to get their readers to do all their dirty work for them. And you've fallen for it Hook, Line and Sinker. You'll defend their book to your death becasue they have convinced you that you're definding God himself. But that's utterly silly! Any all-powerful, all-knowing God that you can pray to heal you when you're sick can surely deal with his own sinners without having to ask you to deal with them for him. It's clearly a ploy by men to use the masses to support thier bigoted male-chuavanistic religion. Hey, I realize that Jesus had some nice stuff to say in the new Testament. I'm not knocking that. Buddha taught the same things. I'm 100% behind the moral values that Jesus tuaght. But supporting the entire Bible as the word of God goes so far beyond supporting the moral values of Jesus. Even Jesus himself didn't support the Old Testament! He actually denounced several things that had been established in the Old Testament, like stoning people to death, and seeking revenge. He was against stoning people to death, and he taught to be forgiving instead of seeking revenge. That's a complete about-face from the Old Testament, and it's the very same things that Buddha taught! There's no way that Jesus could have been the son of the God of Abraham. He didn't even agree with the Old Testament! |

Yahweh gives man freewil. We are here because the Angels who knew Yahweh face to face rebelled against him.
Man is in training for a great mission that the Angels proved would not follow the laws of good. To say Yahshua did not agree with the OT is off the wall. He agreed with every point of it. The keeping of the law as the son of man(mary's child) he showed good could be done if man would listen instead of crying about every little thing our creator Yahweh set out for us to learn. Yahshua was able to break the marraige agreement (the covenent of Ex24) by his death. His death as showing mercy taking the penalty of the law away from mankind. His perfection was by doing the law as it was meant to be. Spiritual in your heart. Willingness knowing this is what is right. The 2nd Adam to whom the life bearing fruit is available to anyone. And yes Faith is what it takes because Faith shows trust and belief that what Yahweh has said is true. Without faith then all you have is a misguided people as we see in this world.Faith of the unseen yet believeing. We have faith when we hear the wind blow. We have faith when we turn on a switch a light will turn on. All of which we can not see. We may have an idea and we may have learned laws to create electricity. But manmade things fail. One little relay fails to tell another substation it has a failure takes out the whole NE electric grid. Yet you have faith Electricity is real. No one can harness the power of nature. No one can stop it. It is as a spirit that is all around you. Yet you can not tell what may happen in a few minutes. We have faith Yahweh will protect us. He says he will. He does not interfere with almost anything though. We as a child need to learn what he says is best is best for us. Like a child you tell do not touch the stove it will burn you yet he has to find out for himself. Yet your heart is hurt that he would not listen and had to learn the hard way. This is how Yahweh is to us. We have to learn to know. But we are forgiven for disobeying when we do not do it as a rebellious child. Mercy leaves when you are rebellious. No sacrafice for sin as Yahshua did for us. You call it a guessing game. Thats not it. If you are doing what you are soppose to be doing then these things will not come upon you because you did as Yashua said. WATCH for you never know what hour he will come.It is a training ground to learn Faith Believing in the unseen.. Blessings...Miles |

Belushi...to help answer your question: http://www.christianinformation.org/article.asp?artID=120 I am not interested in another's opinion. I want yours. You think you are the fountain of all god-type knowledge, you know what he thinks and why he acts, YOU tell me what sin has been committed. |

Sorry Belushi, I don't give opinions on this forum.
What sin did a child commit? None. Now...read the article. |

Sorry Belushi, I don't give opinions on this forum. What sin did a child commit? None. Now...read the article. So you dont give opinions on the forum? I wonder why? Im not interested in the article. I find it laughable that you dont give opinions ... Then you tell me that a child didnt commit a sin (after you have changed your non-opinion from three or four posts ago) So if the child didnt commit a sin, why does your god ignore the starving child? Maybe because he cant? Because your god is nothing but a figment of your non-opinionated imagination. I shall look forward to your non-opinions in the future. |
