One time, on another dating site, I was contacted by a man who went to great lengths to charm me. He was courting me like I had never been courted before. At one point he mentioned something about the picture of me in the chair, and I knew I didn't have any pictures of me in a chair. I told him this. This guy had something like 99 profiles in his favorites and he thought I was someone else the whole time.

His charming answer to me was "Ah, who cares what you look like, you're funny." after which he proceeded to pick a fight. We never spoke again.

Some women have average for their appearance and they are actually 200lbs above average when you meet them? Why do they do that? That is the real question!

Because to them, that seems average. Some people don't have all the data memorized.

Average in their 2 year old pictures they have posted maybe, but they know the difference between average, heavyset, a few extra pounds! I'm saying a little honesty would be nice is all! I mean, it sucks to go meet someone off here you have pictured in your head weighing let's say 135 and their vehicle pulls in with the driver side nearly scraping the ground. That sucks! It's happen to me three times, two whom I met on this site.

Maybe they didn't realize you were hung up on weight.

I personally don't care what my dates weigh and I don't worry about how they describe themselves. if they feel more comfortable saying "average" who cares? It's what kind of person they are on the inside that matters to me.

I'm not totally hung up on weight. I've dated women of all sizes. I'm just saying, it is is kind of starting off a little dishonest don't you think? That's where I'm turned off. Not the fact that they weigh a little more than average.

I don't think people are being dishonest so much as they are uncomfortable identifying themselves as "heavyset" or "large".I don't think they are trying to fool you so much as themselves. I am comfortable with my weight but many people struggle with self-image problems.

As long as we're on the subject of weight...

Many men (and a lot of women as well) have a very unrealistic view of what is considered to be "average."

As of the CDC's 2002 National Health Statistics reporting here they are:

Height: 5'3.8"
Weight: 163 (read: size 12-14 depending on the manufacturer)

Thus, when a woman who is 180 or 185 puts average she isn't lying.

The unrealistic perception of womens' bodies is not a pet peeve of mine or anything is it?

As of the Thomas27 2008 National weight statistics, my reports say the national average is about 5'5" 130ish or a hair more. 180 or 185 is a few extra pounds and 200+ is heavyset.

2002 has come and gone dear! My view is real in my eyes and not completely irrational, thus making it pretty realistic.

Sorry, I only went to the government's website on quick notice. We all know just how concerned our government is with doing anything in a timely manner.

I'm only speaking for myself and what I see and think when I read a profile. I don't base my thoughts off national statistic poles that I never took part in.

Why do people post that they arent interested in "large" women bother to click on our profiles when our pics are posted? I know everyone has a preference and that is ok..just never could figure that one out.
