ok....this reminded me of a debate in general forums about hunting (that got pulled for people acting childish) I am hoping we can have a mature debate here.
I was curious from a religious (or non-religious) point of view if you feel it is wrong. I attanded a Bible study with my grandma's church where this came up. I wish I had popcorn then to watch the show. The 2 points were you shouldn't kill God's creatures...the other side was God put them on Earth for that reason. I can only speak as a Christian (since I am) and I think God put them on this earth for food, clothing, companionship and to help us work. I wondered what other views were based on what you believe as far as a religious or Atheist view goes. Please keep it civil and not push anyone off the swingset lol |

all of the creatures of the planet serve many purposes, but mostly to provide us food. My non-religious argument for this is that animals consume other animals all the time. it is there way of life, eat or be eaten. why then is it wrong for us to do so?

I personally don't believe in hunting but for many people it is a way of life, a family tradition, and a means of survival. And for those who believe in the Bible, it does say that the animals were put here for man.

if god did not want animals killed why did god want blood sacrifice in the old testament Why do a lot of things happen in the old testament, that don't happen in the new testament? Sacrificing for medicinal purposes is ok, but not for human consumption! I guess that's what this is about |

Thomas...please clarify. are you saying it's ok to eat them as long as it's not part of a sacrifice or wrong or right????
in the New Testament...Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. that's why there isn't animal sacrifices eating plants???? since I have no problem eating animals...no problem eating plants either |

Does the church mow down the living grass? if that is to me...it wasn't the church saying it...it was just some people within the church. there were opposite points from members of the church as well is there a religion that preaches no killing animals???? just curious |

Read the part of the bible about the fella having the vision of venisn, he saw all kinds of criters and GODS voice commanding him "kill and eat". That was when all the unclean animals became o.k 2 eat.
Jesus fed people fish, and ate fish also. |

Sacrificing for medicinal purposes is ok, but not for human consumption! I guess that's what this is about the availability of animals did not change the sacrifice to the god changed animals were eaten then as well to argue it is gods creature does not cover it they were gods creatures before the sacrifice change as well they were eaten then and sacrificed to god as well so i guess you can say that now they only get sacrificed for the people involved with its consumption and god does not need gods share any longer thus man gets more of the sacrifice |
