Here in NJ, it's freezing rain.

I just spent 10 minutes scraping the solid sheet of ice off of my car windows.

we talked about this in my Gen Psych class.

the worst thing you can do is give in to it.

a firefighter in my house has had a really high fever. last friday he called the police saying that there was a "craft with a lot of flashing lights" hovering over his house and he didn't want to be sucked up into it.

meanwhile, on the other side of town, a different firefighters daughter refused to go to bed because she "had a nightmare about astronauts coming into her room to take her away."

that's what i'm tryin to do, but she's kinda in the denial stage. sortof the "if i ignore it, maybe it'll go away" mentality. but she's lookin to me to solve her problems. no clue what to say

So a friend of mine just got dumped by her boyfriend for another girl.

on top of that, she just found out she's pregnant with his kid. now she's looking to me for help and i have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what to tell her.

any suggestions?

(MY girlfriend once jokingly asked me how long it would take to get over her if she died, i replied "depends on how hot the female EMT responding was.")

well no one was too seriously hurt. the call at 3.30 was a couple was drunk and driving, they hit a police car at speed. the police officer has a broken foot and knee, a few stitches and might have a slight concussion, but he'll make a full recovery. he was the worst injured on either of the accidents today.

hopefully i won't get too many more calls today.
