Blocked Cookies
|

Hiya Duffy,
I went to techtarget and copied this for you... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ QUOTE cookie - A cookie is information that a Web site puts on your hard disk so that it can remember something about you at a later time. (More technically, it is information for future use that is stored by the server on the client side of a client/server communication.) Typically, a cookie records your preferences when using a particular site. Using the Web's Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), each request for a Web page is independent of all other requests. For this reason, the Web page server has no memory of what pages it has sent to a user previously or anything about your previous visits. A cookie is a mechanism that allows the server to store its own information about a user on the user's own computer. You can view the cookies that have been stored on your hard disk (although the content stored in each cookie may not make much sense to you). The location of the cookies depends on the browser. Internet Explorer stores each cookie as a separate file under a Windows subdirectory. Netscape stores all cookies in a single cookies.txt fle. Opera stores them in a single cookies.dat file. END QUOTE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You might want to check out that site as the answers to many of your questions could be found there. Here is the url: http://whatis.techtarget.com/ Verb |

Big Kid

Yep, especially when I am looking for a new game. I loved lemmings (a
very old pc game), all versions. Was a Doom and Duke Nukem guru. Still love those games. It is not like I have time for games but do still play when I can make some time, want to kill some time or have so much to do, I don't know where to start so spend some of that time playing games. Yep, I still feel like big kid plenty of the time... Verb |

I have that one on my vehicle. Got it at a Ted Nugent concert last year and of course in very small print across the bottom his ad for "Sunrise Safari's". I want the one that mrsart4all mentioned: "Keep Honking. I'm Reloading." It would be go along good with the one I have... lol Verb ![]() |

I live in Kansas, always wear my seat belt and make sure everyone in my
vehicle wears one too. In Kansas there is no fine for children but 14+ in a front seat with no seat belt on: the fine is $10.00. We seem to get off pretty cheap here. I had no idea, I had to look it up. |

Hi Everyone,
Cool! I have been wondering about that since I read this post. I just tried it and WOW a lot of pages came up. A whole lot... Because I live in a small town outside the largest city in my state (Kansas) I think I like the "state" link at the bottom of the page because: 1) My town is small and there are only fours members from here and all younger women except one member. 2) If I go to my profile and click on the state I get folks from every where all over the state, 25+ pages of folks to look through and have to pick through the ages and locations. 3) By using the state link at the bottom I can choose other towns within my state that are close by around mine and come up with many more people to choose from in my age range that are closer in proximity than looking through the whole states worth of listings. SO there are plenty of options other than the search capability to find partners/friends for a variety of reasons/activities. I love it that there are lots of options for searching and it is surprising the different results from each you can get. Great job Mike and VC! Verb ![]() |

A "bot" is a robotic program that scans text for certain words or
phrases. Many sites use robots to peruse the comments instead of a person actually laying eyes on the text to see what is going on between members. Mike and VC use their own eyes and brains to decide what is acceptable and what is not and do not use "bots" to do that work for them. SEE? Verb ![]() |

OMG. I know EXACTLY how she feels as that just, in the past few months
happened to me at another site. I did quit going there, finally. It was a different place though, they did not pay attention to the members reports and when they did, they were as rude as the stalker! It was quite terrible, plus my stalker followed me all over the internet, putting comments into other sites just for MOI. I think it is over now as that stalker just wanted me OFF that site more than anything else. He/She got their way. I go back to look every now and then and wonder how I tolerated all the abusive behavior there for so long. It was stupid of me and worse yet, it is still happening there. Mike and VC have a different type of management rules here so that makes all the difference in the world! I am thrilled to BE HERE and have made many new friends. A lot of my friends from that (stinker) site have come here with me, 5 so far and and I think two more are on their way here. WooHoo! I am sure she will be back and if she has reported the abuse, Mike and VC will take care of it! Verb |

OK! Got firefox running now. I have not clue, as usual. It was not
working yesterday but IS today. Another gremlin issue I guess. OH, I know, I turned off the windows firewall again. It keeps getting turned on when I am doing something ELSE and I guess I keep doing it. LOL My internet connection was down this morning and had to THINK too hard to get the network back up. I took 1 1/2 cups of coffee and squinting my eyes at the modem to get it to work too. That worked though... Sheesh. Verb |

I have had my head in the sand on this one for a long time as I don't
know what my opinion is. Yep, you read that right. I see both sides of this argument and have not been able to form a solid basis for a lasting opinion. I agree with the military as to what constitutes "a fine well oiled machine" and agree that all should have the freedom to be who they are. It is a quagmire for me and I have a hard time with grey areas. If a greay area exists, forming an opinion takes me a lot longer as that line is too blurred. I am not a leftist liberal, far from it, but this issue has had me confounded for some time. No opinion truly formed here. Verb |

Thank You! Great info. I know zip about Linux but learning new things
is all we have to look forward to, right? LOL I will get right on that Linux CD offer. Less than $10.00? sheesh. What a drop in the bucket compared to the prices of other software out there. I jumped from win98 to XP in a big leap a few years ago when I bought my newest machine that I am using (mostly) now. I spent zero time trying to learn XP because as soon as you learn a new system, BINGO a newer one comes out. I am sick of that, too. (would you like some cheese with that whine?) Learning Linux will be a step forward, in my book. I know that is probably not the usual answer from Windows users but as message knows, I stumble around in XP all the time. I have no desire to be a guru on XP. I guess I have set up a dozen systems (or so) on XP and have for some years concentrated on learning other things (that could put a few bucks in my pocket) instead of even the basics on XP. I know what I have to know to GET BY! LOL When you get older you have to think harder too to resolve things. This morning my network here was down, all I needed to do was re-enable the connection, but fumbled around a while THINKING about what went wrong while I was sleeping last night (not enough sleep either). Gremlins, I guess. ? OK, off to other subjects for a bit, more coffee and the morning cache of pills to down. Gotta get breakfast over and done with too. Back in a bit. You guys have a great morning.
