your bestfriend

Sure I would stay friends with them. usually though when something like that happens people tend to drift apart because they have been living a lie for so long that when they come out they develope a whole new set of "gender bending" friends. Kinda like when a really good friend gets married and then all of a sudden you just don't see them anymore. Agrees! I've seen that with a friend who came out the closet a couple years ago. She has a whole, new circle of friends now and hardly ever returns calls from those of us in the old circle. |

And what about those darn Sea Monkeys??? They NEVER did any of the tricks they advertised in the comic books! Damn dirty apes! I actually bought some sea monkeys when I was younger. The cat thought they were delicious. |

They had my sis & I terrified (throughout our childhood) that the "Rapture" was going to happen at any moment. I can't even count the number of nightmares I had about being left behind and ending up in some sort of sinner's concentration camp. OMG! How horrible! I was raised Catholic...nuff said! Here's to misguided parents. Yay therapy! |

DRAMA
|

Why do people who say that they hate drama are the ones who actually create most of the drama around them? I've noticed this too. Sometimes I wonder if they're getting more drama in their lives because they're so completely focused on Avoiding drama? It's the first thing they look for in any conversation or interaction of any kind. They ignore the positive and are constantly on guard against any "attack". Sometimes even the tone of your voice or the expression on your face sets them off. I heard this phrase on tv and it made me think of a friend who's like this. "Wow, way to snatch an insult out of the jaws of a compliment!" |

Openly disliking someone
|
|
Is it okay, when you dislike someone, to openly dislike them?Or should you suck it up and be civil because you are an adult? Depends on who they are & what they've done, and where we both are at the time. If it's just someone who's personality clashes with mine, I'll be civil when they talk to me. If it's someone who's betrayed or hurt me, I'll tell them, point blank, to back the f*** off. The only exception to this would be if we were both at a mutual friend's house at the same time. Then I'd try to be civil out of respect for my friend. |

As most of you know I have recently started seeing somebody. I am am very happy with him. I mean my winter break from school seemed almost magical. He is the most sweetest, kindest, lovingest person I have ever met. I feel safe when I am around him. But winter break is over, I am now back in school full time, and with me working five nights of the week, the only time I have available really is Friday and Saturday nights, and even then it is only after I am done work, but by then he is ready for bed, as he has to be back at the shop early the next day. So really no time. Should I give up happiness and just conentrate on my schooling, and work? You should put school first and if this guy likes you he will understand Well said. |

Buzz kill Umm..no. I think jacaspian put it into perspective nicely. Sure everyone's going to have a bad day now & then. I've had some pretty hellacious bad days. You can't let it get you down though, cuz it could always be worse. Better just to focus on something that will make you smile. lol Sorry. I didn't mean to say HE was being a buzz kill. Just that his post killed my buzz...made me think of those poor people. |

Thank you so much......one and all for posting your thoughts for my family here. I showed this to my Mom and she read all replies and had to go sit in the other room for a few minutes. You have not only touched my heart with your notes, you have touched my family. I have been asked by my boss, why do I spend time on here talking to people I will most likely never meet face-to-face? My answer was that you people can read between the lines and see when something is bothering me.....and you don't hesitate to e-mail/call me to find out what is wrong, something she doesn't even notice and she sees me four days a week! My love to all!! (Sorry if this is like a broken record, but since both of these wonderful men made a thread for me, I can't leave either one of them out.....) |

Is it me, or does she only look about 14 in that pic? It's not just you. I thought her picture looked pretty young, too. But then I've got friends who are still getting carded at 30plus, so it's possible she's just one of those who will never look her age. |
