I've given it every chance it deserves. I confess that I haven't read every single word in the stupid book, but I've also explained why that is the case.

It can't very well recant what it has already said! At the very best it can only offer excuses for why God has to be so lame.

I think what happens with a lot of Christians is that they fall in love with Jesus and then just accept the rest of the book without seriously questioning it.

They used Jesus to prop up their bigoted male-chauvanistic religion even though it's perfectly Clear that Jesus did not even agree with much of anything that was in the old testament!

He denounced stoning sinners to death, (which people were apparently still doing in his day!)

He denounced an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth in favor of turning the other cheek.

In other words, he denounce revenge in favor of forgiveness instead.

And he certainly didn't exhibit any tendence to be a male-chauvanist.

He had nothing in common with the make-believe God of Abraham!
