Studio C is now really a 'Dead Zone'.

I've got another empty studio at work. They sold off the props, furnishings etc. from the series last weekend and now they are are demolishing the set of the Smith House and the police station.

Mice prefer grains to cheese. Healthier for them.

Good diet means that you'll live to enjoy it if you manage to take over.

BTW There are three cats in the house here.laugh laugh

Now just have to wonder about the workmanship, quality etc. Personally I never heard of the company. But then KIA was making parts for others as well before coming into their own. Wonder how much they'll cost once they reach the North American market, if they meet the standards.

Tata Motors to launch Nano on March 23

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
February 26, 2009
NEW DELHI - The Nano, billed as the world's cheapest car, will be launched on March 23, its manufacturer, India's Tata Motors Ltd. said in a statement Thursday.
The ultra-cheap 100,000 rupee (US$2,082) car will be launched at an event in Mumbai and will be displayed at Tata Motors' dealerships across the country from the first week of April, the statement said. The company will start taking orders for the car from the second week of April.
Violent farmer protests had forced Tata Motors to shut down its factory in West Bengal state and relocate to the western state of Gujarat last year, delaying its planned launch at the end of 2008.
The farmers felt they had been unfairly compensated when the government had acquired 1,000 acres from them and handed it over to Tata Motors for the Nano factory. Such land conflicts have become increasingly common as India struggles to industrialize without leaving millions of subsistence farmers behind.
Tata Motors is a part of the Tata Group, one of India's oldest and largest conglomerates.

******Update from Songbirrd (Beth)******

"First I want to thank all of my great friends for their prayers and well wishes...they mean so much to me. I know that ya'll need to be updated but I've been really out of it with all of the pain meds they're giving me here.
lol

But...Brad and I are okay. We have no life-risking injuries...we were really lucky. We both have broken ribs...which I has to say sucks more than any of the other injuries, Brad has a fractured jaw and wrist...my wrist is broken and my leg was broken...I don't know why they said before that Brad's was too but it wasn't...most of the damage to the car came on my side and we spent most of the wreck upside-down. Our faces are cut and bruised and I've got some stiches...oh and I have some crazy gashes on my torso but as you can see...the injuries coulda been worse.

As to what happened with the wreck...a drunk driver didn't have his lights on and he braked suddenly making Brad swerve to the right into a ditch; flipping the car and then somehow we hit a wall...its a blur for Brad and I both...but Thank GOD Joshua wasn't in the car...we don't take him to wednesday night worship.

Anyway...
(((hugs)))
Hope to be back online myself soon.

Have only found two articles which refer to the 'honor killing' premise. One which has two women, one with the National Organization for Women and the other a matrimonial lawyer, who state that it was / may be. The other artcle quoting his lawyer who says that 'honor killing' / religion had nothing to do with it.

..................................................

Muslim TV mogul Muzzammil Hassan's alleged beheading of wife, Aasiya Hassan, may be 'honor killing'

“This was apparently a terroristic version of honor killing, a murder rooted in cultural notions about women’s subordination to men,” said Marcia Pappas, New York State president of the National Organization for Women.
.......
.... further in article
.......
Nadia Shahram, a matrimonial lawyer in Williamsville, said that some Muslim men consider divorce a dishonor on their family.

A teacher of family law and Islam at the University at Buffalo Law School, Shahram said that “fanatical” Muslims believe “honor killing” is justified for bringing dishonor on a family.

Lawyer for Muslim TV exec accused of beheading wife in NY says culture played no role

"Culture, religion doesn't play a role," said defense attorney James Harrington, reacting to speculation that the crime may have been an "honor killing." Experts say such killings are still accepted among fanatical Muslim men, including in the couple's native Pakistan, who feel betrayed by their wives.

"It's not an issue in this case," said Harrington, who described the burly businessman as almost in shock.

"He has an almost blunted affect. He's having difficulty coping with this," the lawyer said.

Until it actually gets to court we'll never know and even then may not find out. However there are Imams who are speaking out against the whole thing from history of domestic violence to the killing.

........................................

The Islamic Society of North America issued a statement of condolence to Buffalo's Muslim community and urged leaders to take a strong stand against domestic violence.

"Women who seek divorce from their spouses because of physical abuse should get full support from the community and should not be viewed as someone who has brought shame to herself or her family," the statement by Imam Mohamed Hagmagid Ali said.
