OK. Amphibole asbestos is definitely dangerous. But 90% of asbestos used commercially is chrysotile, not amphibole species. Considering how many dangerous things there are out in the world today, not limited to coronavirus, corrodible lead car batteries, lead in hunted game, lead in residential garden soil if any paint scraping took place at that spot, psychologically and socially disruptive advertising, and community-weakening communication norms.

Household bleach Is more harmful to the lungs than chrysotile asbestos ceiling tiles. The chlorine in bleach is a chemical warfare agent, and with common indoor use where ventilation is not good, it will result in unnoticeable but real damage to the lungs that will shorten youth and longevity. Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral. Ordinary outdoor dust from the ground soil minerals contains a small amount of asbestos. It is natural and the human body is adapted to it. It is extremely rare that it causes a problem, except in modern day life where people have to be careful how they handle it.

Is the world really safe, or do the regulations just have a propensity to give a false sense of security about the world we live in?
Yes it is dangerous and if I come across it on any one of my building jobs, I have to get a specialist firm in to take it away and dispose of it. I haven't got the special licences to do it, so I hire people who have. Over here in the UK, ALL ASBESTOS is classed as dangerous, be it the white, brown or blue types. The last two being the most serious ones, as the guys removing it are all properly suited and masked up and remove it in sealed bags and take it straight off site!

Chilling in the house, as my son is crashed out on the couch. So apart from the odd snoring noise, it's peace and quiet in my house tonight! :sunglasses::house_with_garden::thumbsup::beer:

I'm thinking a frozen iguana falling from a tree would sting a bitlaugh

Thinking that would be a good thread.... odd facts about where you live

Thinking y'all can Google falling iguanas in Florida
If a frozen Iguana, fell on your head while you were naked and knocked you out though, that could be the plot of a film Kitkat? laugh laugh laugh drinker

Can someone rephrase the question? I don't get it :/

let me try again
the question is
people from two different cultures interact and one of them finds that the other's cultural values are offensive to him/her. what would you do in such situation?
We have that in Scotland, as it's a divided Country when it comes to religion. Catholics vs Protestants. I'm a Catholic and support Celtic, Protestants support Rangers and there's no in between. That's a real clash of two cultures. You should read up about it? There's parts of Scotland, that I can't go, because if they find out I'm a Catholic, I could get attacked, or killed, as it's happened to people before countless times!

stay safe Larsson.
it feels good to see you roaming around in forums sharing your fair share of wisdom.
don't go to risky places man even if and when you're drunk :stuck_out_tongue:
When I'm drunk? Very rarely does that happen, as if I'm not working, then I've got my son with me all the time. No way would I get drunk, while he's there. There's a time and a place for that. As for staying away from dangerous places? Pretty hard when you're coming home from a football match, as you never know who you might bump into. Gotta keep your faculties and wits about you at all times! :thumbsup::sunglasses:

ever planned on not getting drunk on first date but got drunk anyway? like it just happened and you couldn't stop knowing you should stop?
Err no, cos if you were on a first date, you'd want to give a good impression of yourself, not blow things before they've even started! I can handle my drink, but as I said I have my business to run and my son to look after. That's my top two priorities and getting drunk is way down on that list!
