x a million - hopefully we'll escape this crazy upset train that's running roughshod through the bowl season.

(I still think the BCS blows too, give us a playoff and make it about the sport again, instead of screwing different teams each year for money, Utah 13-0 and.......well...er.... frustrated )

That describes me in the 80's. I spent my weekends going from city to city, record store to record store buying vinyl. The 80's were actually a great time for music, it's just a lot of it was over-looked or forgotten". Ya' gotta' realize, MTV dictated America's musical taste. That's what killed music...right there

MTV is awful, once they started with the "real world" we were all screwed, I remember back when it had 120 minutes, I would watch it all the time and usually find at least a dozen or so new bands/albums I had to hunt down. I learned of "Curve" from that show, and it took me over 2 months to find DoppelGanger but alas one day I found it at Tower Records and I was so stoked. Now we don't have a Tower Records anymore, we only have one music store that's decent, and a bunch of chain stores frown I used to make a night of going to all the different places, scoring new music, the going home and listening to it until all hours lol I don't think MTV killed music, but they did a lot of damage and continue to this day to work tirelessly to destroy our youth as well with an ominous onslaught of awful shows laugh I thought MTV2 would maybe save them a bit, but now all they do is play re-runs on that channel and no music either.

Vista's not that bad once you get used to it but whatever, since all you're getting is flamed, here's some real actual help for you:

just cut and paste these, I'm too lazy to code it in html lol

online scanners -

http://us.trendmicro.com/us/products/personal/free-tools-and-services/index.html?WT.mc_id=2008HP_Home_FreeTools_9292008

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

http://usa.kaspersky.com/products_services/free-virus-scanner.php

A couple of good anti-virus sites/vendors -

www.bitdefender.com
www.kaspersky.com
www.trendmicro.com

mcafee,norton,symantec = bleh, they're always a step behind the sites/programs I mention above.

googling your error should give you some removal instructions, you can also run "msconfig" from your "start>run" command (just click run and type in msconfig) to see what's happening at startup, there's also your registry where you can go manually remove whatever is causing problems but I wouldn't recommend that since that's where everything else lives as well. There's spybot sd and ad-aware that are free anti-spyware programs that can sometimes clean viruses or detect them at least.

Feel free to message me if you need any more help, I do this type of thing all the time, for BOTH Windows and Macs.

There were a few others. Alternative Tentacles Records, Placebo which had J.F.A., Dischord with Minor Threat, Fugazi, Rites of Spring etc., Touch And Go had Butthole Surfers, and Big Black....
Then you have Caroline Records, Restless Retro, Dutch East Indie, Sub Pop...The 80's were a great time for punk.

Sub pop brought us alot of the "grunge" bands as well, I used to hunt down no-name bands on their label just to hear something different while the rest of the world was wearing flannels in 80 degree weather and foaming at the mouth over kurt cobain laugh

SST was awesome, they had a lot of skate-rock that I probably would have never even got to hear if not for them. Liberty Lunch here in Austin was the spot for quite a while, that and the original Ritz on 6th st, sadly neither venue exists anymore. I against I is a classic, love that album.
SST records was the freakin' legacy of the 80's, man. Black Flag, The Meat Puppets, Husker Du, The Minutemen, Sonic Youth, Sachrine Trust. Blind Idiot God....and on and on.

No kidding, pretty much everything was put out by them it seems, much like Sony nowadays laugh

You should check out the videos if you haven't already. They did a good job with them.

thanks! I definitely liked their self titled album better than the one afterwards, which is what most of those are from, it's good driving music too. bigsmile

I still listen to them, was rocking an HR cd just the other day.

Saw a really good documentary a few weeks ago on punk rock in general, tons of rad footage including the Big Boys and DRI etc., it's called American Hardcore.

Thsts a cool looking doc. Im gonna see if I can buy it. Thanks for pointing it out. DRI was insane. I saw them live. I lived about two hours south of SF so I was luckily able to see many of these bands.

I still have all that stuff including tons and tons of punk band demo tapes etc., I had a nieghbor who lived next door to me who used to supply me with random cassettes all the time, stuff like DOA, Angry Samoans, DI, DK, Subhumans, Agnostic Front, and so on and so on. I kept it all and even break it out from time to time, still have all my old death metal on vinyl as well. I saw a few of them as well, most of the time we would just hang out in front of the venue and listen from outside as we were just kids and too broke to buy tickets...sigh....those were the days laugh

Lions fan here.

The season never even started for me.

grumble

I can't imagine playing for that team, it must be harsh to have to live with the "record" they set.

Well it's not so secret, but I buy lunch for people in the drive thru from time to time. I started doing it last year, I have no real criteria (like male/female etc.) nor do I know how much I'm paying for ahead of time, I just tell the window person I'd like to pay for the person behind me and wa-la happy

I like this. Thats awesome!flowerforyou

Thanks! The way I see it, you never know what kind of day the person is having, so maybe I get a chance to brighten it or take their mind off things etc

Going through all of my ticket stubs now. Yes...I save them.

Best:

Tool w/Tricky - Cricket Pavilion Phx,AZ 10/30/2001

Primus - Celebrity Theatre Phx,AZ 10/19/2003 ....they did the whole album of "Sailing The Seas Of Cheese" for the encore

Ozzfest 05 - Cricket Pavilion Phx,AZ 8/18/2005 lineup...Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Shadows Fall, Mudvayne, IRON MAIDEN (all original members), Black Sabbath (original members). Needless to say Maiden stole the show.

The Police - St.Pete Times Forum Tampa,FL 7/11/2007

Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers w/Steve Winwood - St. Pete Times Forum 7/16/2008

Worst:

Gnarls Barkley at above mentioned RHCP show.

Slipknot at above mentioned Ozzfest.

That's a kickass list, you mentioning the Chili Peppers reminded me of when I saw them here during the BloodSugarSexMagik tour, they headlined with Smashing Pummpkins and Pearl Jam opening at what is now a pile of rubble formerly known as the City Coliseum, my God that was one badass concert, Eddie Vedder blew everyone away that night, he was so into it and climbing rafters and the whole thing was unreal. I've still yet to see Tool or Primus (and it hurts, I play bass so seeing Les play live would be to die for) and almost went to The Police, but it just didn't work out. The TRans-Siberian dudes are coming here actually, but I'm going to CES in 4 days and need every bit of money for that so I don't think I'll make that, then again, maybe when we get back I can pick up some cheap nosebleeds or something

edit: I keep all my stubs too!
