Churning turmoil in my mind Happy, Sad, Confused, Mad... all at the same time I feel the tears begin burning behind my eyes I think, "I am stronger than this" He says, "Please don't cry" I take a breath I've done it a thousand times Moving in slow motion Buckle my seatbelt Shift into drive Passenger door closes He walks around, My window down His hand caresses my face One last kiss Before I drive away... "Don't look in the rearview" "Don't do it", I say to myself, and look anyway... I see him turn, Head bowed down, Slowly walking away, I take my foot off the break, Slowly coasting once again down the long lonely highway towards the place I call home...
