I guess I should place this in jokes and funny stories...but friendship

 flowerforyou

"FRIENDS" VS. "SOUTHERN" FRIENDS

FRIENDS: Never ask for food.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Always bring the food. And lots of it.

FRIENDS: Will say "hello".
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Will give you a big hug and a kiss. More than one.

FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Call your parents Mom and Dad, and often.

FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Cry with you. And for you.

FRIENDS: Will eat at your dinner table and leave.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing, and just
being together. Then do the dishes before leaving.

FRIENDS: Know a few things about you.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you. And
most of the time know you better than you do yourself.

FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds' back-ends that left you.
Then walk beside you in the front of the crowd.

FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!" If you are not
home they will wait.

FRIENDS: Are for a while.
SOUTHREN FRIENDS: Are for life. And then some.

FRIENDS: Might ignore this.
SOUTHERN FRIENDS: Will forward this to all their Southern Friends!

lil overboard as usual Mike...
he or Mike1313 should not be banned...
Why is it that the new people can come in and slash and bash, and not
even get a slap on the hand, but those of us who like to speak our minds
get kicked off??? Oh, because we can only talk about sex issues openly,
and not other topics...
Just because some do not agree???
What happened to freedom of speech...
If ya read something ya dont like move on to another post,
and go on,
we are all adults here...geez...

There I've said my peace...
I'm outta here...

"Past, or Present"

Last night talking with you
The past brought to the present
led me to thinking of you all day...
We signed off, went to bed
slept sound 'till round daylight
Then I remembered when we were young
and so in love, a smile pasted on my face
Throughout the day, memories flood
and you still take my breath away...
Sure we are older, a little wrinkled and grey
(YOU, NOT ME!!!)...LOL...
par for the course of life is what I say...
Traces of where we've been, and what we've done
Some things not so smart,
and some just plain dumb...(lol)
Now here we are, come full circle,
No longer a lingering thought,
Fleeting memories will always be
and we'll wonder "What If...
but, now we have a chance
cause our friendship was meant to last
Still we can talk, as if yesterday still is
and move forward into the unknown????
The choice is ours to choose
to make something beautiful of what we have,
or keep on moving on, running from the past,
pretending we never felt what we really feel inside????

Coughing

Sorry, no graphic for this one, and don't laugh, it works 100% of the
time although the scientists at the Canada Research council (who
discovered it)aren't sure why.To stop nighttime coughing in a child (or
adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the
bottom of the feet at
bedtime, then cover with socks.

Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and
stay stopped for many, many hours of relief.
Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very
strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely
soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.

I heard the head of the Canada Research Council describe these findings
on the part of their scientists when they were investigating the
effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children as
compared to alternative therapies like acupressure. Just happened to
tune in A.M. Radio
and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often
do more harm than good due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs
so, I listened.

It was a surprising finding and found to be more effective than
prescribed medicines for children at bedtime, in addition to have a
soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep
soundly.

An adult friend tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant
and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that
it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few
minutes and believe me, this was a deep, ( incredibly annoying!) every
few seconds
uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for hours every night
that she used it.

So, if you have grandchildren, pass it on. If you end up sick, try it
yourself and you will be absolutely amazed by the effect.

What do you have to lose?

Ya know, I could really go on and on here...but I wont...

I will say however, that I agree with Txs...100%...

As a single MOM, I need to know that I won't be the only one working and
taking care of my family...and if the relationship moves into a deeper
level, then I need to know that he can support "us" as a family, and
that he at least has some kind of ambition in life...You usually know
this after the first three or four conversations, so no need to actually
list it in a profile as part of a criteria...I think that is just
rude...

whisper...gumbo is a concoction of flavors such as onion, celery, green
onion, filet. It is sorta like a stew, but thinner and served over
rice...and you can make it in a variety of ways...chicken, chicken and
sausage, shrimp, or crawfish or seafood...delicious...some also serve it
with cornbread, or crackers, and potatoe salad...yummy!!!
