i have ways into your heart
that i haven't tried in so long i know that you remember the light and the dark i build walls that you cannot climb just to open the doors and keep you inside until i've found myself slipping away again and in the night when you lay in your dreams it all goes away and the bed you lay on lays in waste and you will not find me and your poor heart that longed release will ask to be captive again your love is your ransom that keeps until it dies and the walls come crashing down and then i will miss you and call you lost to me i have ways to this end that i cannot try again alone and empty is beter than your walking away |

I turned this one into a song. It's just acoustic right now. Not sure what else to do with it yet. :) I listed the link at the bottom. |

Lay me down
on these hardened coals my bed grown cold once burning for the heart I've lost remember she that lived in me the pail notion that it could be is just the haunting in my halls a tormenting ghost unfed unhappy with this dry well of love I've come to in darkened wood and silent streets the frightened child laying in the mire or the old man covered in the ashes of passion thats gone bad no more light no more dream no more dream http://infamousguitar.com/infamousjohn/nomoredream.mp3 |

Laughter spills through the trees
On cool moonlight nights When I should walk for miles engaged in a dream Under pale moonlight and starry sky The temptress blazing colors unseen But to my hopes on shortened paths The distance is not so frightening here As I am light inside And for all that will not show itself It's seen in dreaming eyes opened wide In the children playing, dancing, laughing breaking through night Holding my mended self What light have I to know this night That all is well; all is well The many ages lived in me That entreat me to the man I speak from And carry me through the wood Makes me hope for peace and try And know that my world is good Tonight, tonight the song is quiet But not so to go unheard It calms the places, being apart What a silent storm of color and song That eases the timeless heart |

~ Resentment ~
So I've cause to have resentment filled My heart-like void won't end its tyrant sup Course taste is any delight So enterprise of delight rips me up, still The fallen words never heard call out I know the truth about this night Calm and subdued madman playing the roll of a saint Still horrid to sight So forget the love and see it is done That a feeling of feeling ate up has begun And torn to bits, the hits of sun Light bares me to nothingness I shun It is ferociously furious and strained A bit of a hit of sun and with it is pain Shunned its gross gaze that looks on in shame It's sorted as the phases of fabulous fame And I've resentment filled My void entreats me to passion again It's like the one that stayed was good enough But it is no friend And is whom who has no end |

under his dusty cloak
robes put on by time so much ... unsaid a child waits for death waits for death ... the old man searches in his tattered cover, reaches to give unto the child ... blessed, cursed unlike the other children who play with his sad voice Locks out the day! curious that when his hand is touched again how cold pleading take me away or my heart, please hold ... only but the youth inside memories are but clutching time bring me back who I am in my mind, he cried that child, that child who longed to die staggering old man starts down the walk frightened eyes never knew but to keep hold a course to the lonely child and give him sleep ... I cry so hard to think on it I do not want the child to die how neglected has he lived and I must say goodbye as his breath, his voice, leaves and touches the open skies heaven please rain down on me rain down on me the tears from his eyes |

~Home~
come and stay with me the desolate home, dusty sheets the ashes poured outward from the blackened fireplace now cold with one board taken off the window streams in, the light of the moon down on the wooden chair by the wooden stand holding my book my poor and dark book Have you my words on your tongue stay in here with me and you'll see where the sorrow comes from the feather pen the empty ink the half written page left so so that nothing leaves I come with so many phrases and tangled thoughts and a mind past prime, softened containing pieces of lunacy the sunken mattress lays on old wood nothing goes unheard steps creek and this structure trembles and there is nothing left to do setting alone but to stare and feel the sharp edges of my mind cut too deep and watch the somber state of this place effect me if you come and stay with me if you just stay with me I will breathe for you I will breathe for you, love and I will tell you what my hands no longer can |

My Love Under the Bad Moon
|

~My Love Under the Bad Moon~
Under the bad moon tonight, I am taking quiet steps. I know that you come here still. My eyes are as keen as the inhabiting wild, as theirs are as well my eyes. They look for me and are as well my ears, as they call to me. How should I take you when I find you? You, in this dreary place, should have left me alone. You told me that you would leave me alone. My protests were cries that made the beasts scream through the night. And you still come here. In my tangled home, you come here. A time ago when the fires roared and the drunken conscience cried absolution, I backed you into the corners and tore apart the walls of our home. Reasons were yours and mine but you're here now. You said you would leave me alone and you left me; alone. But you tiptoe through my refuge now to know of me. These walls are coming down again! Scream furious at me but I withstand. Reason against me but I close in. Play with the mad beast but he is no friend. You have come to my home to come at me. If I cannot hear of love then I cannot hear you. Only one cry will do. You dance around the jaded man. The beast is stalking you. Only one cry will do. There will be nothing of love nor like love for this terrible act to cease. Only one cry, one cry will make the bad moon subside. You will not love the beast but for craving the darkened wood. You will not hold him in the embrace that makes darkness drift away. You come here; taunting him; taunting me. You should have left me alone. You said you would leave me alone. And still you came here; but for the last time. |

~Song of the Traveler~
I come to you on the cool misty night carrying stark dreams, carrion Unto Elysium with thought and pain and strain and contempt and what fain Sickly hours run the slow cold toward my blood grown quick Savor the stride that conducted these fares unto thine They are bottles of pungent wine Dress to wear on the tongue that will befoul me in hours of years to come I am like the fire and the black smoldering sheet dresses me to look well on thee with no harm to come Love, on my love's broken tongue |

unkind, her eyes that look on this shell knowing the one within screams she steals song from my lips music of my soul in hell all the pleasure rips from these stone hands on pale faces we see the courage fall as i have taken to dark paths at night unseen in the dusty light the paradise was glimpses and the rest was a terrible sight how do we speak and not of this the farewell kiss that stole you from me the praising touch that threw me the place i keep for your return i know now must burn and all that i am is more beautiful than i have been and if i cry is it, my love, a sin |

~Behind These Fading Eyes~
I drown in the tears I do not cry Behind these fading eyes Thinking of you in the last days of my life I miss you In the silence aching and failed tries My greatest love and one compilation of regret The screaming I cannot forget A loss in this hollow heart The painful debt Bleeding in heartless love song Under the lonesome moon After the last sun has set After the last sun has set After the last sun has set I drown in the tears I do not cry Behind these fading eyes |

That is it exactly. We've all had fairly sorted pasts. Nobody escapes that! So everyone gets a mask; at least one. Sometimes looking out at the world we can still recognize that soul sickness all around us.
I wanted to portray it as strangers in my home doing strange things (not specific). That was the observers feeling I wanted to convey at any rate. Thank you again so much for reading! I really appreciate the insight! |
