~The Timeless Heart~
Laughter spills through the trees On cool moonlight nights When I should walk for miles engaged in a dream Under pale moonlight and starry sky The temptress blazing colors unseen But to my hopes on shortened paths The distance is not so frightening here As I am light inside And for all that will not show itself It's seen in dreaming eyes opened wide In the children playing, dancing, laughing breaking through night Holding my mended self What light have I to know this night That all is well; all is well The many ages lived in me That entreat me to the man I speak from And carry me through the wood Makes me hope for peace and try And know that my world is good Tonight, tonight the song is quiet But not so to go unheard It calms the places, being apart What a silent storm of color and song That eases the timeless heart |
