Most often, it is their absolute lack of criteria in their profile.
But the few that actually bother to put in the trouble to state what they want....
Most haves horrible syntax and grammar, so it is plain that they aren't who they claim to be. Often because their translation app sux.
The only ones who can write decently, are similarly quite fussy about what they are trying find. Unfortunately they're not so easy on the eyes.
And then there are those who claim to be "slender" but their photos are either several inches out of date, or they're in blind denial of reality.

The last 3 persons who claimed that they wanted to text and chat, weren't whom they claimed to be - so my phone got spammed with sales messages and solicitations 24/7 for weeks. □ if anyone is incapable of initially getting acquainted via this site's message system, they're presumed to be a fraud and scammer on a 99.997 percent probability of accuracy.

I hope it isn't because I live in one of the most expensive places to live, on the planet. Which if you weren't a tourist, but a long time resident you might notice that San Francisco is pretty run down, well past its glory days. And because of the COVID19 thing, almost every one who still has money to burn, has already fled the city.
I just happen to work for the county, I ain't rich.

When I joined, initially it was because all the other dating sites (that I tried) made unrealistic claims of successful matching. Only to find out that on one site, there is blatant racial discrimination tolerated by the administration of the site. On another you were required to pay a ridiculous monthly fee for matching up with batches of incompatible persons whose criteria was vague or presumptuous. On every site there will be scammers of every kind. This is simply the nature of the interwebs. It is unavoidable, and you just haves to trod with caution. Especially when someone is using an obviously bogus photo, of a recognized professional model or former hasbeen pornstar wannabe.
When I joined Mingle2 I had had just about enough of the bs claims of the so called leading dating sites.
But then because I am a widower, I have become fickle for what I am interested in, for a prospective significant other candidate to pursue the cultivation of initial friendship and dialogue, with the primary objective of crafting a relationship together and of course settling down somewhere to live happily ever after, despite the upheavals in popular culture, politics and economic turmoil, which we all have to bear - like it or loathe it.
○ So, I am looking for a certain individual, that appeals to my aesthetic interests, who is not a bimbo, but possesses indisputable qualities of personal nature AND character, with intelligence. Which by default also has values, ethics and principles that define them. ○ It is so much easier to make friends with people when you're a child, because you're still innocent and un-corrupted from life's hard realities which are earned from living and surviving into adult-hood.
With so many unsuitable users, some legitimate, and plenty that are obvious scammers, to plain users looking for a gullible victim with benefits. Whale watching is not done in the wild, except by boat. Although "whale watchers" who pay to join a charter group to be dropped off to swim with whales is a thing. There have been documented incidents of charter boats dropping off whale swimmers, and not coming back for the gullible people.

If you have to see animals that are not in a book, go to a zoo. Where you can see animals that have been in captivity for most of their lives, that are no longer fit for re-release. But doomed to a peaceful existence of being tormented by teens and bumpkins on bad days and their caretaker forgetting to feed them.

Here in Frisco, there are "wild things" in the "wild" that live outside, not in cages.
Downtown there are vermin like mouseys, rats, seagulls, pidgeons, bugs, and bums in the streets, and bicycle hijackers.
In the outer neighborhoods there are coyotes, raccoons, possums, giant rats, a handful of feral cats, stray cats and a lot of homeless people.

But if you have to go into the "real" wild places that fyi are endangered because of human encroachment of civilization, pollution and industrialization.
Go right ahead and get yourself eaten by an innocent wild panther, tigger, wolf, or shark - for intruding upon their own dwindling privacy and habitat.

I have found that everyone who mentions "God" in their descriptions are either extremists in their chosen religion, or hypocrites whom have double standards when you attempt to have a dialogue about a legitimate topic of discussion. Particularly when you catch them in a lie, whenever they claimed one thing a few hours earlier and contradict themselves later.

Why not just omit "god" altogether until the issue comes up for discussion.
