Well... I concede openly that I ain't normal.
And I'm kinda' happy about that. js. Nevertheless... I just think that if we get stumped by the opposite sex... ask questions, communicate, probe deeper. If they find that all invasive and inappropriate or whatever... if they act like you're moving too fast, thinking too much, you're trying to change me; that's their misunderstandings. It's a matter of trying to learn more about them... not an inquistion/interrogation... though we all come across differently. But it's a good thing, see? They just made our life easier... one less person for us to figure out if "they're the one". jmho. |

We all know what love is, and when we feel it, and/or have it bad for someone, we say “I love you.” What about how we feel when we like someone, should we say “I like you”, to let the person know we have some level of feeling for them, or do we just assume that we know another person likes us by how we interact together? If we assume it though, we could be wrong, so is "like" an emotion we should clarify too? Wait a sec...? Give a N-AT a hand up. We all know what "love" is... but mebbe need to expand on our usage of "like"? I've always found it the other way 'round. But yes... I do think that if you feel... you should try to express it. There are more folks with selective mutism out there than there ought to be. |

That sounds like a very difficult situation... sorry that you're having to deal with all those mixed emotions and having to put your brain into over-drive to follow love.
But I truly respect your agonizing over it all. That you're considerate of everyone involved, moving cautiously, asking for advice and maintaining the friendship with her. All awesome and spectacular qualities in an individual.

I don't think that getting old takes away our youth.
Still, it seems that cynicism tends to encourage us to give away our youthful ambitions. Past hurts and frustrations can either stop us in our tracks or it can give us wisdom on how to proceed. So nowadays, I look for wisdom in others and when I don't see it, I know that ain't the one for me. Along with that, I tend to see more wisdom in older ladies... sometimes. (I also see some that have merely perfected foolishness )
