OK folks - I've gotten a few Abuse Reports on this topic as well as others. So I am going to make a blanket warning to everyone:

On the JustSayHi message boards, you are free to discuss and debate any topic as long as you refrain from making personal attacks or insults on other members. You can debate the topic vigorously, but you may NOT insult another user at any time.

From this point on, everyone is starting with a clean slate. But any attacks made by any poster on this topic after this moment will result in a suspension or ban. Defending yourself, or "but they do it to me all the time", etc. is NOT an excuse. ANY further personal insults or attacks will be met with a suspension, PERIOD.

So make sure to follow the forum rules at ALL times if you want to continue posting here.

Are you hitting block user? Check your blocked user list by going to the "Mail" tab, then clicking on "Blocked users". If you block a user, their mail will disappear from your inbox.

Just a warning - if you bombard us with mails, we're gonna be pissed. So I'd suggest you don't do that.

Gypsy can post now. As Gypsy's friends, you should help make sure Gypsy is a complete angel on the boards now. Penalties go up with additional violations, so the next violation from Gypsy could be a long suspension. So please please please help make sure Gypsy stays well within the forum rules. And of course, help make sure everyone on the site stays well within the forum rules. It'll make JSH a better place for everyone.

FYI - for anyone else who might have this issue, check your "Blocked Users" list and make sure the sender is not on that list.

Hi folks,

Just a quick post to let you all know that we've decided to make everyone on the site a Gold Star member! You no longer need to invite 3 people to the site in order to use smileys, have more photos, etc. Now, as soon as you sign up, you automatically get access to all of our features.

Please don't feel like this means we don't want you to invite your friends - we absolutely do! The more people you invite to sign up, the more people we can all meet. We were finding, though, that some people were getting confused and thinking they had to pay money for Gold Star access when obviously they didn't. So to eliminate that confusion, we decided to open up full access to everyone.

Thanks so much to everyone who has helped to spread the word about JustSayHi. Hope you are all enjoying the site!

OK folks - here is our official position on this:

- If you are under 18 years of age, you may not post a profile on the site. If we find out that you are underage, we will ban you and delete you immediately.

- However, we do not have any problem with adults who want to post pictures of their children on the site. If that is a part of their lives that they wish to share, they are free to do so as long as those pictures obviously follow our other photo guidelines, i.e. no copyrighted or obscene material, etc. But the child cannot be using the site - only the adult parent can.

Of course, if you do NOT want to post pictures of your children, that is fine as well. This is a parental decision that each parent must make on his/her own.

Also, our rules DO allow you to debate topics. You can argue back and forth about anything that you like as long as you do not attack other users in doing so. So saying that you disagree with someone is fine. Saying that they are an idiot is not.

- Spur was banned, not suspended. His remarks were way over the line.
- If people are being abusive in CE or Religion Chat, use the report abuse button and let us know. We address every abuse report that's sent in and investigate it. If people are violating the rules, they'll be warned, suspended, or banned depending on the violation and their past history.
- bl8ant was warned several times in the past about not attacking other users. I specifically emailed her previously stating that one more rule violation would result in a ban. Then she made posts like this:

a looser good luck with that"

"fuk yourself too dearie"


When we deliver a punishment on the site, there are many factors that come into play. Almost all of the time, if a ban or suspension is issued, it's not for that one incident, but the result of several incidents.

I am not typically going to discuss what punishments we deliver on the site. That is a private matter between us and the member in question. But I want to make it clear that we don't act without cause, and we treat all fairly and with respect. If you see us take an action that you think is unfair, there is almost always much more to the story than what you are seeing.

sincereman - I will email you as soon as I can. I do apologize for the delay. As you can imagine, we get a LOT of mail every day, and we don't always get to answer people as quickly as we'd like. But I will respond to you as soon as I'm able.

I agree, and Spur has been punished as well.

Self-defense is not an excuse. This is stated very clearly in the forum rules.

FORUM RULES

1) Do not attack/slam/insult others. You can discuss the message or topic, but not the messenger - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, YOU will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself, defending a friend, etc. are NOT excuses. Violations of this rule are taken very seriously and may result in being banned without warning!

Both Jess and Gypsy had been warned in the past, so they clearly knew the site rules when they posted.

Here's some of the attacks Jess made:

"Apparently....I can tell your level of education by your literacy skills....no argument there... "

"oh, let me spell it out, so you can understand it....

you can't get it up , and your impotence shows by your useless suggestive disgusting comments. "

...and there were others.

Here's some of the attacks Gypsy made:

"Now spur, when you get a brain, and a **** dont get them mixed up and suck the wrong end!"

"I think we flushed the verbal diarrhea down the toilet.....[referring to another member]"

As for the other participants in that thread, they've either been warned, had their posting privileges suspended, or been banned outright depending on the degree of their violation, and whether they'd been warned in the past. So it's not just Jess and Gypsy that have been punished.

As for not caring about our members, well, I guess you can believe what you want. But it's Saturday night at 2am, and I'm posting on the boards answering member questions, so take from that what you will.
