I know this topic was created with light-hearted intentions but I think some of the posts are starting to cross the line in terms of attacking or insulting other members who didn't even choose to participate in the topic.
Therefore, I'm locking this topic. Let's make sure to remember that the purpose of the site is to meet new people and make sure they feel welcome. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. |

Hi "Chicas" -
This is a reminder - attacking other members on the forums will not be permitted under any circumstance. Anyone who attacks another member on the site risks having their posting privileges suspended or even a permanent ban from the site. Forming a group to attack other members is even worse and will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another user, use the Report Post button on the post in question and a moderator will look into it promptly. Or, you may use the Report Abuse button on their profile. Those are the only permissible courses of action you may take. We're not going to permit this stuff, so please don't test us. The last thing we want to do is suspend or ban people, but we will if we have to, so help us out by making sure to stick to the forum rules at all times. Thanks for your cooperation. |

I know there are a lot of members who would love to have a chatroom on the site. We've had this feature requested this many, many times, and it is something we would love to provide if we felt we could do it right.
The issue with having a chatroom on the site, though, is that we can't monitor it to the degree we feel is necessary to ensure a quality experience. Unfortunately, the forums already require quite a bit of moderating - to keep JSH the great place that it is, there's a tremendous amount of work done by the volunteer moderators and the admins to make sure that the forums remain friendly and fun. Moderating a chat room is 100 times harder, and we simply don't feel we can provide a great chat room experience without adequate moderation. Until we feel like we could provide a quality experience, we won't add chatrooms to the site. And unfortunately, I don't see us being able to provide a great chat experience anytime soon. Now, there have also been a LOT of personal attacks and insults on this topic. As you all should know, those attacks are against the forum rules. This is a warning to ALL of you - personal attacks will not be tolerated. Further attacks will result in a suspension of your posting privileges, so please, let's keep the discussion civil. All of you have, in fact, demonstrated very clearly on this topic exactly why we will NOT be adding chat rooms to the site. |

Hi everyone,
We released a new feature today - you can now customize which forums appear on your forum page. You can use this feature to hide or show whatever forums you'd like. For example, if you're not interested in the Current Events forum, you can now remove that forum from your page and you won't see that forum any longer. To customize your forum page, just click on the "Community" tab, then click on "Settings" in the bar below the tabs. You can check or uncheck any forums you'd like. Then just hit "Update Settings" and your changes will take effect. Now that you can manage the number of forums on your page more easily, we'll be adding more forums on topics like Science and Travel, plus forums for different age groups. If you don't want to participate in them, you can just take them out! Hope you like the new feature, and hope you are all enjoying the site! Mike |

Hi folks,
A few things here: - It is against the rules to post advertisements for other websites on the message boards. We let a few things slide like posting youtube video links, etc., but for the most part we enforce the rule fairly strictly. - The topic in question "looked" like an advertisement, which is why it was deleted. We, unfortunately, get a lot of sneaky people posting what looks like a harmless topic, but in fact is a trick to get you to visit another website. Because we don't have a lot of time to investigate every single topic posted like this to ensure it's truly legitimate, we delete them as a general rule. - In this case, I looked into the website and upon further review, it looks legit, so we'll repost the topic. - HOWEVER, in the future, ANY protests of mod actions that are posted in the forums will be deleted immediately and the poster will be suspended. The forums are NOT the proper venue to protest any moderator actions. Instead, you should just email one of the mods, myself, or Vanchau, and we will look into the situation and take the appropriate action. Remember everyone that the moderators are here for YOUR benefit. They help make the site safe and fun for everyone. You may not agree with every single decision they make, but the good they do FAR outweighs any minor disagreements you may have with them. We will not allow them to be needlessly bashed on the forums, just as we would not allow YOU to be needlessly bashed on the forums. If you have an issue with any mods, take it up with me. I'll be happy to listen to your greivance and respond. But if you take it up on the boards, I guarantee that in the future, you won't receive the response you want. |

The ads are new - we're testing them to see if we can generate some additional revenue from the site. There shouldn't be any other impact to the site though. If you're seeing any issues on the website, try hitting the "Refresh" button on your browser. That should fix any problems related to the new ads.
I know the ads are slightly annoying, but we need to make money from the site somehow! My daughter needs to eat If they are not generating any significant additional revenue, I promise we'll remove them. But if they are, we may need to keep them in place. Sorry for the inconvenience - we'll keep you posted! |

P.S. I do sympathize with the original poster. The email you received is totally uncalled for, rude, and inappropriate. We don't allow users to send malicious emails like that on JustSayHi, so if you do receive one, please use the "Report Abuse" button on the sender's profile and we'll investigate and take the appropriate action.

Please DO NOT use the forums to report problems on users. Instead, either use the "Report Post" link on one of their posts to inform a moderator, or use the "Report Abuse" button on their profile if the problem is unrelated to the forums.
Using the forums to report a problem user would be considered an attack on that user and would be a forum violation. Using the Report Post and Report Abuse forms instead allows us to investigate the problem promptly and discreetly. Thanks for your cooperation. |

Folks -
Posting emails from other members on the message boards (which is what happened in the first post in this topic) is against the forum rules. The general content of this topic is fine, but as you can imagine, when members post emails from other members on the message boards, it can often lead to all kinds of drama. This is why the rule is in place, and why I'm locking this topic. I'll be deleting it in a minute, but just wanted to explain why first. Discussing these types of issues is fine, but to be permitted on the forums, you'd need to omit the email that was sent, and instead pose the question in a manner where not even the actual sender of the email would recognize that it was he/she you were discussing. Thanks for your cooperation. |

Topic:
Four mutual matches
|
|
Does the email say you have 4 mutual matches, or that there are 4 people waiting to meet you?
If it says there are 4 people waiting to meet you, that means that 4 people have said "Yes" or "Maybe" to you in Mutual Match, but you haven't rated them back yet. To see if you are a match, you need to go to "Search", then "Mutual Match", and start rating profiles. If you click on "Yes" or "Maybe" to someone who also rated you as "Yes" or "Maybe", you'll both be notified that you are a Mutual Match. If the email says you have 4 mutual matches, and you only see 1 listed, then that's a bug and we'll look into why that is happening. Does that help explain things? |

Hi everyone,
Please remember to post your topic in the correct forum. If you want your profile rated, post in the new Rate My Profile forum. I've been moving the topics so far, but I'm going to just start deleting them now if they are posted in the wrong forum. So please make sure to post ratings topics in the Rate My Profile forum. Thanks. |
