I think you might find that his surname wasnt Christ.

Xtians revere Jesus of Nazareth Muslims revere Isa. Isa = JC So although JC was jewish and a muslim, that doesnt stop the xtians revering him. |

Yeah right? and the world is such a better place today without God? I think not...just ask people in the third world who are under govt. tyranny & oppressive religiosity. How about slavery all over the world... not only of women but children too. Thats not true! Mourningsong said that no one starving or has committed sins! You see I asked the same question. I get told I am going to hell on average about 7-8 times a day.I have received hate mail and death threats. I have been called a Witch, a whore, viper, swine...the list goes on. I dont care. It makes no difference. I still have the right to ask questions. Its a free electronic relay interface open to users worldwide. If anyone is upset by this, then perhaps one of the many other forums would be better suited to their sensibilities. YOU TOO???? Hey that's great!!! At least I am not going to be on my own! The usual suspects normally get to fill my inbox with stuff trying to save me, convert me and then condemn me. I think its hilarious. |

So it is "your opinion" that you are not sharing your personal views and interpretations of scripture but the ACTUAL "word of god".and in fact being led by the Holy Spirit on these forums? Is the word of the Holy Spirit based largely in part on copied and pasted websites in that case? Hmm. No that does not really clarify anything but good try. 
It wasnt even a good try. It was the standard response from someone who doesnt have the strength of faith to have it put on show. It seems her faith comes from copying and pasting, and just proves that the vast majority of people that she speaks for are just like her - sheep who have no original thought and wont have an opinion because they are not allowed to. Sounds like the subjugation of women all over again - but of course that doesnt happen in the bible, does it? |

This is total bull MorningSong. I asked Jesus to come into my life because I was pure in heart and wanted to do he RIGHT THING! The fact that I also wanted to teach the gospel of Jesus to others was secondary (after the fact!) I wanted to help others UNDERSTAND the Gospels because people seemed to have so many question EVEN THE PREACHERS! However, the more I studied the Bible the more I realized it can't be true. This happened over a period of about 15 YEARS! And I didn't give up easily! Abra..... you wrote..... " I asked Jesus to come into my life because I was pure in heart and wanted to... do... the ... Years ago, when you accepted Jesus, you WANTED TO DO THE RIGHT THING ..... but that is NOT what SALVATION is all about...which is BELIEVING Jesus died for your sins....AND THEN BELIEVING and ACCEPTING JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOUR. Abra.....if someone accepts Jesus , cause he just wants to do the right thing...or because he wants to please others...or because he wants to please God......or just because he wants to live a good chrstianlife......quess what ,Abra!! NONE OF THE ABOVE , is going to get that person saved.....cause Salvation has to ALWAYS COME FROM THE HEART. But first, in order to get saved, One has to truly believe that Jesus died for our sins. But Abra....now that you know that long ago...your "wanting to do the right thing" did not get you saved , it is not too late Abra, to REALLY get saved now. But only God knows when that day will be, when that  "spirtual light bulb" turns on........and you will finally at long last.... "see".

I find it interesting that the US forces its presidential candidates into making mistakes in public that are then highlighted a million times to their own detriment.
We have this in the UK, but not quite as much. We certainly dont have televised debates quite so much in the public fora. Out of interest what do you hope to see when you watch the televised debates from your candidates? Are you hoping for a gaffe? Do you not think that because of the wise and wonderful people that back these candidates up, that they will just give the popular centrist line? What does the VP televised debate give to the campaign. Could I just ask that no politics are brought in here (i.e. Dem-bashing or Rep-ripping) Im interested in the US people's opinion on this. God doesn't let awful things happen ... I don't usually jump into these types of conversations, but this is a beautifully concise example of the reason behind my own disbelief in a "One True God".
1) God has the ability to stop awful things from happening 2) God does not do so. If both of those statements are true, then god does, in fact, "let awful things happen". So which one of those 2 statements is false? God has to be INVITED... GOD CANNOT AND WILL NOT INTERFERE OR COME AGAINST MANS FREE WILL... or else GOD would be TRESPASSING.... Im sure the millions of starving african babies will be so pleased to hear that. Not hundreds, because after all there may be some atheists amongst the starving, and they obviously deserve to die because of their lack of faith ... not hundreds or thousands but f'kin millions!!! How do you justify your god then? Can you have a conscience that when you thank your all-powerful imaginary friend when he puts food on your table, that he witholds it from innocent children dying in 100degF heat with distended bellies due to not having anything to eat ... How the f'k is this god's plan? |
