Universal Pearls
A Pagan Mother’s Prayer

Once I was called
To incubate, name, and nurture
Two pearls of the universe
To raise to adult stature.

The arrangement was made
A long time ago,
To give these two back
To the universal flow.

No knowledge had I
Of what this required.
Only to raise and protect,
Their vim, vigor, and fire.

The two they have grown
And polished through time.
I give them back now
At the end of this rhyme.

I call on you now
Water, Wind, Earth, and Fire.
Claim back these two pearls,
Of Universal Sire.

A two-legged true father,
They never have known.
Please shelter and guide
Them to paths of their own.

My relationship, though distant,
By no means, released from employ
Help us transition
With laughter and joy.

As above; so below……………
