i think to each there own but if someone does pursue a realationship in the work place and they break up or even date they need to be prepard for the drama that ensues and have a back up plan if the person has more power then them

Due to many people's hectic schedules, this almost has to happen if some professionals want a social life.
I don't think dating somebody you work with is wrong, however dating your boss or having sex at work is definitely bad. |

It is great after a night of drinking.

I don't care for eating dung.. thank you. Made that mistake before and it's just stupid. It keeps others in your personal life that otherwise wouldn't even know a thing, and increases stress all around. And after the break-up, you get to keep seeing that lovely person everyday. Oh joy.
I'd say it should be grounds for termination on both ends... if I was all powerful! |

Did that three times while I worked as a consultant to different companies. Very, VERY bad idea. You'd think I would have learned after the first time!

As a plant manager with 2 secretaries I can't imagine what kind of atmosphere dating one of them would create. I am with them more than 50 hours a week and know both of their husbands who trust me to treat their wives with repsect. Way to many reasons why you should stay away from dating at the work place.

I guess it all depends on the size of the organization. I work in health care and it's absolutely possible to date someone within my organization and not interact with them regarding business at all.
Now if you're working in the same office, in each other's face all the time, that's a no no. I had a situation like that many years ago and not only did we work together but I had to delegate work to him at times. When we broke up it got pretty nasty! |

Some companies have policies so its not even a choice? I've had mad hot crushes on a few colleagues - but never acted on it. Flirting inappropriately is as far as it ever went |

Agree with Fran;
Where I work, and where I play - two separate areas. I might invite others to come along if they like - but under strict rule - This isn't work. |
