yes...and yes... I always - always - end up with men that are unavailable in some way. I mean, at some point, I have to realize the problem is me. Oh, shoot. See, the more I know you, the more I KNOW we were separated at birth - I just didn't get the clever comebacks you inherited. you got the looks. |

I love when people ***** about getting rejected then do the rejecting themselves. Serious hypocrisy right there.

Urk Bobby J - if I am programmed to look for mates who have the same qualities that my parents did, I am doomed.
No wonder I have had such marvellous success in love. |

i attract women who are just unavailable in every aspect........ I really think we attract that which we are... um so if i attract women with boyfriends then i have them too? i don't get it....... No, I think that's a little short-sighted. I mean, in the emotional/spiritual/intellectual sense. If we are able to give (love/affection/support, etc.), then we attract those who can do likewise. Not always, of course, but, well, a bell-curve might be more accurate. |

Not always, of course, but, well, a bell-curve might be more accurate. i have no problems with showing affection, being romantic , being supportive, being loyal and sacrificing for the people i care about but i seem to attract the exact opposite. every girl i've dated has ended up using, taking advantage, lying, cheating, back stabbing and on various levels being emotionally and all around mentally unstable. i can see how your logic might be on target sometimes but there is a significant margin for error there as well. |

well here's my two-bits worth............no i don't attract emotionally unavailable guys, and seeing how i'm unavailable period......i wouldn't even try to attract guys at all.
i thought we were talkin about unavailability, NOT rejection |

The Hendrix book does apply to much more than emotional unavailabilty. If you're anything like me, you'll read the first third of the book thinking it to be a lot of BS. But then it starts hitting one right between the eyes with sense.
Scary, yet enlightening reading. Something curious Hendrix brings up in his book is that feeling of familiarity we get when we meet someone we find very attractive to us. The "I feel like I've known you all my life" feeling. This is where he states one is actually identifying the person (one is attracted to) to certain (not all) traits of their parents. |
