Topic: Di Vinci code | |
---|---|
I thought I was pretty clear. And I think the topic is the historical Jesus and how he lived his life. Since you are confused by my innuendos I will be more direct. Jesus went around with 12 guys, all the time, some of them that left behind wives. He was a great friend to his mother, so close to her that he traveled with her all the time, and one of his best friends was a woman. Jesus was gay. He was part of some multi marriage gay group that traveled around. I also think that the miracles were just a big production. some type of play or performance. Add it up. not sure where you get the gay part...but ummm ok. didn't ask about the miracles. and not sure why the disciples being married or not has to do twith the code I am talking about. I don't know why me bringing up the history of Jesus confuses you on this thread. The Devinci code is about the life of Jesus and what went on back in his day. Could he have been something other then what the Bible claims. I am making a clear statement that yes the Bible is wrong as the Divinci code points out. however I think it is much more likely that Jesus was gay not married. The reason I point out the family connection is that I have kids (had a wife) and I would not leave them to follow a man. I do not know any man that would leave his family to go with another man. In fact the only people I know that that happened too, were men that were in love with each other and ended up living together. Hope that helps you. |

ok...keep on going.
I specifically asked about Jesus and Mary. Women followed Jesus throughout his ministry too. Again....reread the topic or start your own thread. |

ok...keep on going. I specifically asked about Jesus and Mary. Women followed Jesus throughout his ministry too. Again....reread the topic or start your own thread. So you start a topic asking if we think Jesus was married to Mary, because you saw it in the Devinci code. I come in and say No I don't think he was married at all and give my reason 1,2 and 3 and you say I am off subject? man I don't think I could get any closer. Maybe all you want is people to come in and say. Yes I agree with you. |

hardly. I'm refering to what does the disciples have to do with it or the miracles
if you want to believe it's not possible because Jesus is gay...fine...I can fully respect your opinion the others i have no clue what proof that is |
|
|
|
rabbit...I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe there is something that I'm not understanding how you relate that to the topic.
If this IS the case...I'm sorry and please clarify. I understand about the gay (not sure how you got that) but that's your opinion as to why they couldn't have been married. I still fail to see what the others have to do with it though |

I have seen that movie it's a good movie,I do believe that is mary at the last suppers table, and I have always wondered why Jesus wasn't allowed to marry like everyone else to.but these are things we will probably never know in our life time.

I saw the movie last year. I had one friend at the time that was totally against it..did not want to see it and did not want me to see it...said if it was not in the Bible it was not true.
But it did make sense - I even went to a lecture on the myths of the DaVinci code they held at work at our main office. I won a book there DaVinci Myth Vs. The Gospel Truth. It's a small paperback..if you like I can mail it to you. I think both sides have valid points. I enjoy watching the history channel and discovery channel since they make you think and re-think. |

I see both points as well. I understood from research etc that the custom at the time for jewish men was to be married and have a family. Maybe Jesus was married and it was left out of the Bible.
again...just interesting to me ty both for your posts |

I think the Book is better then the movie, I actually think the book moves faster then the movie and that dosn't happen very often. The de Vinci code is based off a non-fiction book called Holy Blood Holy Grail. It was kind of hard for me to follow all of it, but it is packed with different conspiracies. |

Chris Rock (although personally I can't stand the guy he's a blatant racist) had a pretty good set of lines in the movie Dogma about the bible. Something about Jesus goes from being 12 years old to 38 in the span of one page of the bible. How Jesus more than likely had brothers and sisters (which is likely given how many children people had back in that time given the life expectancy...)

not sure if this has been done yet Has anyone see the movie or read the book? Seen the movie. Haven't read the book. I'm curious what people thought of May Magdelin being married to Jesus and carry the holy grail as the child Anything is possible. I wasn't alive back then so I haven't got the first clue. Not up on my 18 BC - 8 AD history either. I thought it was interesting and made me think. Why couldn't Jesus have been married and had a family??? It was customary in those days...so why not? I tend to think Jesus was probably just like any other person and was merely propped up to be more than he actually was by Organized Religion. Every Religion needs some sort of martyr after all. And no, I'm not just referring to Christianity. Jesus is accounted for in several different religions although he is called different names. (And no, he is not the son of god in every one of them either.) |

so you think it's possible wiley?

Sure. I don't think any historical account is 100% accurate. Since all through human history, those accounts are typically re-written by the victors of certain conquests.

besides Jesus being gay (yes rabbit I respect your opinion)...is there anyone that thinks he wasn't married to Mary or anyone else for that matter?

WTF I'm gonna tell ya that there is alot of men that leave there families on this plant daily. and if there was some sort of devine intervention to help with the preaching of the lord there would be more |

And maybe Jesus never got married because he had commitment issues.
"It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery." (Matthew 5:31-32) |
