Thinks pot should be legal; why or why not

it should not be illegal..it is an herb and not a drug...i feel if everyone in this world would get high we would live in harmony

I really dont have an opinion. i dont do it. But I have alot of friends that do. To each their own I guess. But its not something I do myself or want my kids exposed to

for many medical reasons for one....it's a GREAT pain killer!!! Plus, in my eyes, I think it is better than drinking because when you get stoned you don't want to do S**T except sit and munch on grindage....but, when you drink, you wanna go out and party which there's nothing wrong with in moderation. But, when someone has too much and still thinks they can drive, that's when I think sometimes alcohol should be illegal because a lot of people don't drink responsibly and aren't safe.....

I don't do pot, I don't hang out with people while they are doing pot (Mainly because it makes me sick) BUT i DO think it should be leagal.
A LOT of people would do SOO Much better if it were leagal. Many people wouldn't be on as many medications. It would help Chemo patients with the side effects of chemo. It if were regulated like it is in Amsterdam it would be a lot better. It CAN be taxed but you wouldn't have NEARLY as many people in Prison. You would not have as many people seeking drugs like they are now. Hell the whole community here in the states would be better if it were legalized and monitered like in other places.

no, because once that becomes legal, that only opens the door to more problems, possible attempts at legalization of other drugs/substances, irresponsible people driving under the influence and killing or harming others needlessly... just way too much of an issue. Not to mention the obesity issue it will have on Americans when they get the munchies...

oh, to the subject.... I would rather be on the road next to somebody smoking than somebody that was drunk... I don't smoke, but can appreciate the effects... People are pretty funny when their stoned

It's a start up drug.. Should be illegal..

But that doesnt mean they wont drive recklessly or carelessly.

I think it should be legalized to a degree.. I really don't know how to suppress my thoughts on this though which makes it difficult for me to explain what I mean.

It should be. What's the difference between being high and being drunk? As long as you do it at home, and do not hurt anyone, it should be your right. JMO

I have never heard of anyone getting high on pot and driving reclessly, I have never heard of anyone getting high and commiting acts of violence.

From my experience, (and I followed the Dead for 3 years before Jerry died ...may he R.I.P.) you get high and eat and share... that's what you do on pot..

Alcohol on the other hand...some do fine, some do not do fine... but the people I have seen that have done pot and then do alchol.... do fine...

I've personally never smoked weed, not because of some moral issue, or fear that I'll end up on an after school special, but it's just not my thang...

BUT

I have a major problem with the so called legislation of morality. There's no place for it in a so-called free country. Besides do you actually think the 'war on drugs' was ever fought sincerely? Under the table deals, governmental winks and nods, and the fact that it's a choice. People are going to do what they want.

My opinion, and that's all it is, is that it should be regulated much like it is in more progressive countries. Anyone who's ever been to Amsterdam (which I have, but didn't eat the brownies) knows that the city doesn't have streets full of anarchy.

Besides, does anyone really know why marijuana and cocaine are actually illegal? You'd be surprised if you knew the truth.

You are correct. And its JMO... but my younger brother was killed by someone drinking AND smoking pot, he was 20. So I guess my feelings are a bit more jaded.

It absolutely does mean they won't..... Without a doubt... they will drive with both hands on the wheel and about 10 miles under the speed limit....
